"So I think everything should be white, it would be cute. It's like newness and freshness. Just overall representing the fresh start you guys are going to have." Taylor spoke with such excitement that her words almost crashed together and came out in one breath.
"White is fine Taylor. But everything can't be all white though. It would remind me of an asylum." I chuckled as we sat in a booth. Mimi and Kyson enjoyed their ice cream while I and Taylor continued to plan me and Brandon's wedding.
"What should the accent color be?"
"Ugh—"
"Blue!" He butted in as he shoved a chunk of a cookie brownie in his mouth. "Light blue like my plane!"
"Mimi—You like light blue?"
She nodded as she rocked in her chair. She also had a mouthful of ice cream that ran down the side of her mouth as she messily ate it.
"The bosses have spoken." I shrugged as I turned back to Taylor who was absently smiling.
"This is so special." She cooed as she leaned her elbows on the table. "Having your little ones plan your special day with you."
"Yeah. It is." I responded quietly as I glanced at Kyson and ran my hands through his curly hair. So far in the two weeks that we've been planning, we've chosen a location, we chose flowers and we found an ordained pastor.
"Sooo—honeymoon? What's the deal." She asked as she skimmed through her planner that she used to help me keep up with all this madness.
"We don't really need one." I shrugged as I turned my eyes back to her. She bunched up her face and shook her head.
"Um yeah, you do."
"I just can't afford to be away from these two."
"Brielle—they will be fine for a few days while you and Brandon moon each other."
"You and daddy are gonna what?" He laughed obnoxiously as he leaned over on me and shot his eyebrows up to his hairline. "What's that mean?"
"We're gonna go swimming."
"That's not what that means!"He chuckled like he actually knew.
"How would you know?" I teased as I pushed him off me gently. Kyson was so full of personality and it made him all the more enjoyable to raise.
"Have you thought about getting a nanny?"
"Why would we need one?"
"To help look after the kids. Things would be a lot smoother if you didn't have to drag them with you everywhere."
"You know how I feel about random people being around my children. I've taken a leap of faith by putting them in school."
"But they're thriving. You hear how excited they talk about their day and making friends."
"What are you saying Taylor?"
"I'm saying it's time to ditch the nomad mentality and step into reality."
"I'm capable of looking after my own kids."
"I'm not saying you can't. I'm just saying—there's nothing wrong with having extra help. Especially if Brandon is going to be taking trips frequently."
"Is this your way of saying you're tired of helping me with them?"
"Absolutely not. I love looking after them. But sometimes you need a break from being a mommy and you need time to be Brielle."
"And what would being Brielle look like?"
"Going on girls' night out—with me of course, Going shopping, going on dates with your husband, you know things normal people do."
