"okay, first we'll film the dance cover practice video, then from there we'll do the more serious filming after." manager-nim said as he held the door for the girls to go into the practice room.
"sounds good." irene said as she guided the girls to do their usual, put their belongings on the side and with that they started filming around 7 am in the morning. despite being exhausted from their long practice schedules for their nct special stage performance, they had to get ready soon for their new comeback.

"okay, so the boys had some extra to-go food sent here while you eat, i guess we can film the video while you eat. it'll be more wholesome." the director said as they put the bag of food in front of the girls and began setting up the camera. the girls nodded as they began to immediately dig in. they soon realized it was mostly vegetables, but considering they're female idols, they didn't mind.
"i have to go assist the boys with their schedules, when you're done filming all the upcoming videos, feel free to head to the dorms." manager-nim said as he grabbed his backpack and quickly waved bye in a rush.
"so before, we get started this will be the group portion of the documentary we have been creating. you girls have been filming before pre-debut and we will soon realize a trailer for it. this section of the interview, will give a deeper view into what it's like to be in the kpop industry. feel free to completely honest, that's what will make people fall in love with you all more. okay?" the female director said as she sat on a chair next to the camera and took out a notepad and pen.
"can you cut out parts, that seem too emotional or not appropriate sections that we don't feel comfortable with sharing?" hana said ensuring that the girls could express what they did and didn't want in the video.
"i can try send manager-nim the content before posting, but if you guys begin to speak about something you don't want, say it to me immediately." she replied back as the girls agreed.
"okay, let's get started. action" she said and the camerawoman clicked the start button. the girls got used to the camera and continued eating. after getting asked simple questions, with relatively positive replies, the girls finished eating and focused on the camera.
"how would you describe your journey into the kpop industry?" director-nim asked. the girls thought as they realized the question was a lot to think out.
"i mean, it's been good for the most part. to live out our dreams and aspirations is truly a dream come true. i wouldn't say it was all sunshine and rainbows for sure. to be in this industry, you have to have a tough heart. you'll have people looking at you from every corner, some supporting you while others are waiting for you to slip up and make a mistake. although, we have so much love from everyone, it can get hard at times. of course, we didn't think we wouldn't struggle. i mean, to get to be an idol comes with a lot of sacrifice for sure." irene voiced out as the girls nodded along in agreement.
"what do you think on you girls being the only girl unit of nct?" director-nim questioned as she wrote small notes on her notepad.
"well, it's nice. it feels like we have 21 boys that support us immensely. it was scary at first, to think that we would be working with them. there were times where we would have difficulty in keeping up. considering they've been professional kpop idols for years, we did struggle to keep up, even until this day, we do. we're improving everyday as a unit and we couldn't do it without the boys kindness and patience for us. we always mess up on choreography and timing, and they find ways to always catch us up and pick us up when we feel frustrated. words can't explain how much we appreciate them. " soyeon said with a smile on her face thinking about the fond memories she had with the crazy and dysfunctional yet functional group of boys.
"it's nice to know that you all seem to have grown as a family. if i may ask specific questions: hana how has your journey been? i mean, your the youngest amongst all the girls and yet you hold such a key role." director-nim asked as the girls turned their utmost attention to her.
"the journey for sure has been difficult. i mean, to go straight into the industry right after high school, and to get thrown in the crowd immediately was definitely difficult. my parents live far from seoul which left me living alone while attending SOPA. when i came into SM entertainment, i had such a timid and weak heart. it made it hard for me to learn and take corrections. the girls constantly had to reassure me that i was doing fine. i could definitely say, that i questioned my skills and abilities when choosing this career." hana stopped momentarily as she remembered days of silent crying in the bathroom or the sleepless nights.
"as i made no improvement in my mentality, the late nights of practice, vocal lessons, filming began to get strenuous. the girls has continued to support me through the hard days, but yet i still felt like a big burden. i felt that irene may have been getting tired on helping me correct my choreography. i thought yeri and soyeon was getting tired of the constant retakes i had to do when recording our debut song. i guess you could say, i was at the end. questioning whether i should forget about the dream i've been yearning all these years. but, over time as the boys also started to surround me more often, i found it harder to suppress my emotions. especially when we just debut, i would scroll through endless comments to see people criticizing us for being the only girl unit of nct and nitpicking everything we did wrong. from then on, i guess i got a reality check. i wanted to prove to everyone watching us, that there was a reason we were handpicked. not because of our looks, but because we have talent. we never stop working hard. we push until it feels like our bodies can't anymore. of course, despite the change of mentality, i began to depend on other people. i found myself depending on the boys, especially mark. i mean, they've all given us enormous support. they come to watch our practices, they come to our music show performances, and a lot more. i hope they know how much we love and support them." hana finished off feeling herself cover her face out of habit as tears began to stroll down her face. hana tried to laugh it off noticing the girls had teary eyes while staring at her and listening to her heartfelt statement.
"haha sorry." hana said as she awkwardly laughed and closed her eyes while memories flooded her mind of the difficult nights all the girls faced.
"well, thank you for being so honest hana. could we finish off with one last statement you all answer one by one. if you could say anything to the boys, what would you say? irene, you can start." director-nim, pointed her hand to irene as she put her notepad away and began listening. the camera zoomed in on irene as she looked straight to the camera prepping her thoughts.
a/n: hii everyone! this was a longer chapter. i wanted a more heartfelt chapter so i hope you enjoyed reading it :)
