"we could go with a cutesy concept, which is different from what you debuted from. examples of cutesy could be the first couple songs red velvet came out with, chewing gum and we young for nct dream, touch for nct 127, cheer up by twice, and many more. as for keeping with the dark, rebel vibe concept, we could take the route of like a female version of superm. a hard hitting song with a deep underlying meaning, but with more of a mature look rather than dainty." the rep showed us as she flickered through her powerpoint showing us various clips of both aspects from different artists.

"personally, for me i vibe more with the mature look. we did start off with that, so it would look more uniformed if we continue with the concept, but different instrumentals and genres." irene said as the marketing team typed up notes and nodded.

"we could definitely do the cute concept in the future, but i want the fans to get a deeper understanding and meaning to our songs for them ton properly connect to us." hana added on the irene's comment. the girls one by one gave their input and finally concluded with their same concept as before, but with deeper underlying meanings.

"could we help produce some of the lyrics and be a part of composing the songs? we do have experience. before i came to SM i learned how to produce music and instrumentals for other smaller companies, hana and soyeon are good at lyric writing, yeri is amazing at creating choreography." irene voiced as the girls agreed knowing that they told the company their . capabilities before coming.

"so you're implying, you want to take on a lead for your album, in terms of producing and composing?" the marketing rep said as her team and her shockingly were surprised at the girl's request.

"yes, mr. sooman knows the skills we have. just propose it to him. i'm sure he'll accept it. especially since we've all been his previous music students." irene smirked knowing that she was right. they all were taught by him at least once, and he knew that they all were amazing talented, which is why he debuted them all so fast, because he knew they would work together great.

"okay, i'll let him know." the marketing team concluded.

"before, we leave you to discuss some ideas with the production team next door, we just wanted to confirm that we'll be having meetings around this time every week, same time. don't worry about getting dressed up, we're not as strict as mr. sooman." the marketing rep joked as her team laughed in agreement.

"sounds good, thank you for all of your hard work." irene said as the girls respectively bowed and headed to the soundproof recording to see them all silently waiting for the girls. various people on different instruments and using the millions of controls for the recording booth.

"hey girls, this meeting will be a lot more fun than your previous one so get comfortable." the rep said as he pointed to a long L shaped couch in the back of the room.

"okay, what kind of beats are you thinking of? from there we can eliminate the ones that doesn't match." one of the workers said as she handed all the girls each iced coffees.

"thank you. well personally for me, i think we could definitely pull off an r&b song." hana said as she handed the girls each a reusable straw that she always held.

"i don't think we could do the same vibes as punch, but i agree with hana." yeri lightly joked around trying to jog her mind of more ideas.

"i would also like to add a lot of harmonizing adlibs in the background too. soyeon and yeri are pretty good at doing the higher keys. hana and i can do the lower octaves." irene said acknowledging what things they wanted and were capable of.

"okay, we could play some small samples, don't worry if you don't like it thus far, because it depends what we can add on to the simple beat to make it your dream songs, ok?" the rep said crossing off some words on his notepad and turning his rolling chair to the control pad of the recording studio and reverting his attention to the screens. the girls quietly got comfortable on the couch, taking off their purses and chilling out.

"oh i like this, we could definitely add ablibs onto it. and if we wanted it to be a faster pace, we could just have it speeded up." soyeon commented as the girls listened and the staff was writing down notes on their opinions.

"okay, here's sample two" the rep announced right before he clicked and the girls another r&b audio.

"this definitely gives of sexy vibes, not gonna lie." hana said quietly to the girls as they jokingly laughed after hearing her comment.

"any opinions?" the staff in the room asked in anticipation.

"i like this the most thus far, the beat seems maintainable to sing and rap to." hana said backing up her claim as to why she likes it.

"agreed." soeyon said as she thought about the millions of lyrics they could produce on the blank audio.

"just so you girls know, these few of these samples are for other artists that either is being recycled or it's off of youtube, so we're just gaining inspiration and an idea of what you like, so that we can gage and make more personalized samples in the next couple meetings that fit your taste and your voices." the rep told the girls.

"ah understandable, thank you for letting us know though. the girls and i decently know how to work some of the controls and instruments in here, so if you ever need help miss-" irene said realizing she didn't know the young adult representative.

"call me nari, we're all pretty close in age anyway. you guys can drop formalities." she said while giving a small smile to the girls.

"okay girls, we just need your input in another couple recordings, then i believe you guys have something to do after." nari said before the girls got back into the zone and focused, knowing they could do a lot more compared to their debut. they were loving it.

"where are we going now manager-nim?" soyeon curiously asked considering they just finished a two hour meeting with the marketing team, and an hour meeting with the production team, and now they had another task to do.

"since you guys are nearing the beginning process of preparation for your first comeback, the company asked for me to set time aside for you guys to begin a workout routine for the week. after that, i believe you guys are going home after that. i'm not too sure." he replied.

"ah i see, okay. that's understandable. who wants to lead the workout for today?" yeri said knowing that their tradition was that someone would lead it.

"i will." irene said quickly as the others groaned knowing that they'll be dead by the end of the workout.

"we're gonna do like another 4 million sets of squats again." hana complained knowing her legs would give out easily considering how long their break was.

"at least your butt will look good after." yeri commented as they walked into the empty dance room and putting their belongings in the back while manager-nim left them to go help the other nct units.

"let's go!" hana said as she connected her phone to the speakers and pressing play to her nct hype playlist.
