third person:
the sunlight lightly shined pass the sheer off-white curtains reflecting on the boy and girl snuggled on the bed getting every last bit of rest they could before forcing themselves up for errands.
"mornin" mark lazily said reaching foward to the night stand for his glasses while keeping his opposite arm stay in position as hana's head pillow.
"morning mark" hana replied back noticing mark's eyes awaiting for her to get up first. she arose from the bed, quickly remembering she had to visit her old doctor.
putting on some light-wash denim with an off-white long sleeve. too lazy to style her hair, she went with brushing her now long brown locks of hair, and headed to pack her hand wallet and grabbing her phone. after getting ready, she silently walked out of their bathroom to see mark standing by the door looking at her direction.
"sorry, did i keep you waiting?" hana whispered as she looked at mark while applying her tinted lip balm over her lips hastily and put it down on mark's desk before directing her vision back to him.
"no, don't forget your mask." mark reminded before grabbing his black hat from the nightstand. the girl nodded taking out her black cloth mask and putting it over her face while moving her hair out of the way. unknowingly, hana didn't even notice the bandaged hands that held the door for her and also held a lunch bag filled with foods ready to go.
~
"we're not getting breakfast." mark said after backing out of the dorm's parking lot and heading in the main street.
"that's fine. what about you? don't you need to prepare for the rest of your schedule? you can't go on an empty stomach, you might've done that before i came but i won-" hana scolded mark as he focused on the road listening to the light lofi beats as the sun lightly shined on the windshield. completely ignoring hana, he didn't notice the girl beside him had already found the lunch bag he hid in the back seat under a blanket. stopping at a red light, he glanced quickly at the girl with a shocked expression on her face as she zipped it open.
"ah, you weren't meant to find that yet hana. it's hard to keep surprises from you. i hope you like it." mark said ruffling the girl's hair as she excitedly looked at some childhood snacks and messily cut fruits in containers.
"ah sorry for it being so cut ugly, it was my first time really preparing food for someone." mark said as he noticed hana looking specifically at the fruits all in one big container. afraid of her complaints, the boy found himself jittery and tapping his bandaged pointer fingers in the steering wheel.
"no no. i like it. it reminds me of my mother. despite having to get to work to go do her early shifts, she would cut fruits just like this for me. thank you mark." hana said noticing his fingers bandaged. she hesitantly put the snacks away in the bag and put it back in the backseat. and quickly grabbing the boy's right hand and intertwining their fingers.
"you don't have to do this for me mark. just being able to be beside you is more than enough, okay?" hana reassured him as she gently rubbed mark's hand gently and tracing hearts on his hand, allowing the time to past and hoping that it would never end.
~
"doctor dahyun! how have you been?" hana greeted the young doctor, only five years older than her and quickly sitting in the comfortable chair in front of her desk.
"hana! you look so great! did your mom even tell you? she bought me one of your albums as a thank you for helping you pre-debut. you've flourished wonderfully in all honestly." dahyun said lightly lifting a familiar colored album to hana as she nodded.
"i'm glad she did. how have you been?" hana asked lightly slouching into her chair getting comfortable to talk to the girl.
"i should be the one asking you that! i'm okay. now, what's been on your mind hana?" dahyun asked as she pulled a blue pen from her drawer and opening her notepad to a fresh clean paper.
"honestly, i just should say it straight up. you know i'm not the best at dealing with comments about me or criticism. well, when i was live with the girls, i was taking the lead for the baking portion because yeri unni didn't know how to, and i guess the fans took it as me being all bossy and rude to her unni. that wasn't my intention. well, all-in-all, i tried my best to let it go, but i felt like i needed someone to confide in other than the boys and girls in nct. i hate the idea of being vulnerable and making them constantly have to protect me. i should be able to do that for myself. i can't depend on them all my life right? yenno what i mean dahyun?" hana voiced as she played with the rips in her jeans.
"that's understandable to feel like that. with the way, mark worded it with me when he texted me, he said it was just a check up. so i'm assuming he knows about your past experiences?" dahyun asked knowing that in the past, hana struggled to voice her thoughts, opinions and troubles.
"yeah, it took a while for me to tell him. it felt nice to finally let it out. i mean, i had to tell the girls because they would've found out either way with my sensitive heart. as for mark, i felt like i was proud of myself for telling him willingly." hana admitted thinking about how she had to tell the girls about it, with them surrounding her will comforts foods, blankets, and tissues. dahyun smirked knowing where she would bring this conversation into: making the girl realize how important mark was to her.
a/n: i just wanted to put out a disclaimer! i don't suffer from mental illnesses. i did want to bring this into the story because september is suicide prevention + awareness month. i ask that, if you ever need someone to talk to, don't be afraid to reach out. all-in-all, you got this! this was a bit of a filler chapter, but know that many more surprises are to come in the future. :)
+ ps. i wrote this chapter in september, but don't forget ur never along >.<
