"Enjoy your meal," I said as I placed two burgers in front of teenage boys. The grease that dripped off them and onto their plates was seriously disgusting. How could people eat here?
"What's wrong with you kid?" My boss asked me as I wiped the counter space off.
"Nothing," I muttered. "I just don't feel good."
That was a lie. I was still confused over what happened a few days ago. Yelling at Luke and ignoring his text were the last I've heard of him. He hasn't tried to call, text, or come over. I was secretly hoping that he would. Because that meant he was thinking of me.
"Why don't you head on home Crash."
"But my shift doesn't end for another twenty seven minutes."
He shrugged. "We're pretty slow tonight and you seem to be down in the dumps. Go ahead."
"Thanks," I said giving him a small smile. I headed to the back to collect my things and then went to my car.
Despite being in a shitty mood I was still hungry. I knew there wasn't much to eat back at the apartment, so I headed towards the mall.

Happiness tasted like a mango pineapple smoothie and cheese fries. If I could, I would come here every single day and buy a smoothie.
I sat in the food court alone. There weren't many other people here. Mostly employees from stores that just got off work.
I took a big sip of my smoothie before setting it back down. This really sucked. My life really sucked.
I pulled out my phone and stared at the black screen. I was so tempted to call Steven or even Hannah. I haven't talked to them in awhile and I kinda missed them.
My family and friends back home gave up on trying to talk to me after awhile. They knew I wasn't going to come home and stopped trying to guilt me into it. None of them knew where I was, not even Anna. I was still hesitant to tell them, afraid they would come and pick me up.
I shoved my phone back into my pocket, deciding not to call anyone. I got up to throw my trash away.
The bass of some song reached my ears. Squinting I could see that the music store was pretty busy. The music store that Luke happened to work at. I looked around before walking towards it.
Turns out they had the game rock band set up and a few people were playing. I joined the crowd in watching them. Whoever was singing was pretty good, even though the person bashing on the drums was practically drowning them out.
I couldn't see anything due to being in the back and being short. I was seriously thinking about just sitting on the floor. However, before I could do that the song ended. Everyone listening began to clap.
"Do another song man!" Someone called out. "You're crazy good!" I could hear others begin to agree and I was wondering who they were referring to. Hopefully the singer.
"I would love to, but I have to get back to work. I'll let someone else give it a shot."
My head snapped up. I knew that voice. Was that really Luke who was singing? I began to shove my way through the crowd in hopes of seeing the blond haired boy.
Sure enough, he was walking back towards the front counter, a few people patting his back along the way. I chose to follow him. I was still a little confused and pissed at him, but he was such a good singer that I had to say something.
"I didn't know you could sing," I said leaning up against the counter.
Luke's face remained unemotional as he looked at me. "Yeah. I can."
