"Ca..can I go ?" I whimpered. "I..I need to go to class I'm already late."
"Oh ya, sure we'll let you go nerd. Just walk away." Said Jessica in a sarcastic tone. While the others chuckled.
Me being dumb really did try to just walk away. Only to unsurprisingly be pulled by my bag and falling backwards on the ground right on my butt. It really hurts, but it was gonna be the thing that hurts least. A punch came directly to my face.
I winced in pain from the pain on my face while trying to block myself with my hands that doesn't do much. Few other kids which I think was Sherry and Evelyn started kicking me while Kathy took my bag and poured everything out and threw my bag in the trash.
"I helped you throw your bag in the trash, maybe you should go in too, being the trash that you are." Said Kathy in an annoying tone. All of them laughed.
What have I ever did to deserve all of this. I did nothing wrong.
Me, Emma Robbins. I was only fourteen, a girl who is shy; a girl whose still coping with her mom's passing; a girl who is bullied; a girl who doesn't have any friends; a girl that used to have depression. I'm just like any other 14 year old girl. Al I want, all I ever wanted was just to feel like any normal girl. Happy. Where the only thing to worry about is their studies. Hanging out with their friends and having fun. Is that really too much to ask.
I was in so much pain I can't really hear what they were saying. My vision was getting a little blurry until I saw someone walking over who I assume is Mr Harold.
"What are you guys doing here not attending class?" Mr Harold said in a strict voice. The girls quickly scurried off back to class. "Are you ok?" He asked in a concerned voice. "Do you need help?"
"N..no" I quickly replied. Knowing if I were to complain the bullying was only gonna get worse.
"Do you want to go home then?" Mr Harold asked. "It's ok, I'm alright" I said while forcing a smile on my face. "Well then get to class you're already late."
Sometimes I wasn't sure if the teachers really don't know that students are getting bullied or they just don't do anything about it. Anyone knows when you ask someone are you getting bullied or if you need help most of the time the victims usually says no. Being scared the bullying worsens.
While walking back to class one of the guys bumped me on my shoulder sending me to the lockers.
"Yo what's your problem trash?" Jack said.
"I..I'm sorry" I whimpered. See I just CAN'T stand up for myself. I'm here apologising when they were to ones who bumped into me.
"Ugh lets just go." Noah (Carter) said.
I looked down the whole time until they've all walk past me.
*Ringgggggg*
A long day of school was finally over. I saw my dad waiting for me in his car at the gate. I ran over excitedly. Nothing was better than going home where I could escape all the bullying. Little did I know, soon, home becomes a place where I wanna run away from as well."Hey how was your day honey?" My dad asked. "What happened to your face?"
"Oh it.. its uh it's nothing, I just got hit during dodgeball" I became really great with coming up with excuses.
"Do you want to go to the clinic?" Rose looked at me concerned. Rose is my dad's girlfriend. They have been dating for awhile now since my mom died a few years back. I really like her she was very nice.
"It's just a hit I don't need to go to the clinic" I chuckled. I thought to myself at least I still had people who cares about me.
Since my mother died I became a little depressed. I started talking a lot less than before. It was probably due to that I started getting picked on, and me not standing up for myself only made me an easy target. Soon the bullying worsens. At first it was just calling names being threw crumpled papers at but now I was beaten up all the time.
Then I finally graduated middle school. At first everything became better. My dad met Rose and she kinda made me feel like I had a mom. My depression became a little better. However, in high school, freshman years especially, me being a shy freshman with no connections or friends with anyone whatsoever literally just made me the perfect target of bullying. Not long until I started getting bullied again. I guess my shyness gets me bullied no matter where I go. I used to be a confident girl who had a lot of friends, but that was all in the past.
"Emma, Emma!" Dad called.
"Huh" I replied after snapping out of my thoughts. "What did you say dad?"
"Rose asked you where do you wanna eat?" Dad says. "Hmm what about the Burger Lab, it's your favourite place right?"
"Sure, anywhere will do dad." I said.
I laid back to my seat looking out the window. Dad and Rose was talking through the whole journey. I slowly close my eyes and fell asleep.
"Emma, wake up we're here." Rose gently said.
We got down after my dad parked the car. When we went in, I saw someone familiar. As I turned to look, I saw the last person I wanted to see. Kathy and her friends.
