"Come on! Please! I need to get back at him real good! And we all know that you love seeing Logan suffer" I told Jana who frowned at me. "Please" I begged her, dragging the 'e' and clasping my hands together. When that didn't work I then pouted. "Put the pout away." She told me with a tired face. "It would be fun! I promise" she scoffed "For you! it wouldn't be fun for me!" Jana groaned. I sighed, placing a hand on my forehead.
"Just do it, Jana, it's only for two days. Besides, it's for a good cause, kinda. and don't give me that look because you know I'm right" Ellie said smirking at her. "But it's mean!" She exclaimed.
We were sitting at our usual lunch table. And I just told them my plan about getting back at Logan and they loved it. Well, until I told them what I needed them for. More specifically Jana and she immediately said no. And now I'm convincing her to do her part. I mean, come on! All she had to do is flirt with him, not much of a big deal.
Ok no, scratch that, it is a big deal, but I needed her in this so badly! I heard Ellie and Charlie laugh. I smiled at the fact that I was gotten more comfortable with them. They made it so easy to be around them, and now we're practically siblings which I adored so much.
"Wow. I've never seen so much stress on Jana's face before" Charlie said with amusement. Jana rolled her eyes. "Oh shut up, Megan'' Jana snapped at him. I furrowed my eyebrows. "Megan?" I asked confusingly. Jana smirked and Ellie laughed. "Oh, Megan is Charlie's second name," she told me. I chuckled as Charlie groaned. "I will never forgive my parents for giving me a girl's name," he said under his breath. "And I will forever be grateful for them giving you a girl's name" Jana teased him causing him to huff.
"Don't change the subject, Jana. Come on, please" I begged her again then pouted. Jana looked at me with hesitation. "W-why can't Ellie do it? Or Charlie!" She whined. I rolled my eyes. "Because one, I think you forgot the fact that Ellie is Logan's ex and it would be suspicious if she flirted with him considering he knows that she's friends with me, and two, Charlie is not gay! And it would freak him out if Charlie flirted with him" I told her making her chuckle
"Come on... please?" I begged for the tenth time. She eyed me and the other two who were practically begging too before sighing. "Fine! But only if I get to borrow your eyeliner from now on" she started grinning at me. I groaned because I hated it when people borrowed my makeup since they tend to break it. But if it's the only way to make Jana do her part then so be it. I'm sure it will be worth it. Hopefully. "Fine!" She clapped her hands excitingly.
This is going to be interesting. I thought.
The school bell rang giving the signal that lunch is over and it's time to execute the plan. I gave my friends one last look. "You guys know what to do. I need to win this." I pleaded. "Yeah, we know. We'll do our best. Besides, he deserves it. Right guys?" Ellie asked them and they nodded in agreement. "Can I just say, I love how competitive you are" Jana said, laughing a little. I shrugged "It's just who I am, baby," I said in a very bad New York-style American accent. they simultaneously cringed and shook their heads. "Angel, we love you, but no" Charlie said holding me by the shoulders.
"Alright. Tell me what happens later alright? I gotta go to class. Ms. Drew hates it when I'm late. Bye guys!" I laughed and waved at them.
A few hours later, I sat by a tree in the parking lot of the school. Sitting down, I took out my diary and started to write when I heard Charlie and Jana talking to Logan and his group, I then decided to move to another tree nearby and listen to their conversation. "So uhm, I was just wondering.." Charlie stuttering a little. "Dude, I know what you're trying to do, don't even try to fool us" I heard one of Logan's friends say.
Shoot, were they that obvious?
"Y-you do?" Charlie asked him. "Yeah! you're trying to ask Claire out. And I am telling you this right now, she's not interested" the guy told him. I let out a quiet sigh and held in a laugh. "Dave!" a girl exclaimed as I heard a slap which I believe is her hitting her friend "What? no no no! it's not like that!" Charlie quickly answered in a panicked tone. "Oh, so you're not interested in each other?" another guy asked the two of them. Both started to overlap each other explanations.
"Okay, okay, we get it, you guys are into each other" Logan said. "We're not!" the girl said. "I mean, I AM interested but, wait no! I mean.. ugh" she quickly added and groaned.
"Can you just get to the point?" a new voice asked my friends in a cautious tone. "I just wanted to ask you guys about.. homework?" Charlie said making me slap my head.
Way to go, Charlie.
"Oh my god, he IS asking Claire out!" the first guy exclaimed. "You dragged me here just for you to have a wingman? You should've told me! I mean if I were you I would've just straight up asked." I heard Jana say. If she's planting the bomb right now, then she is an absolute genius. "Yeah? How?" Logan asked her making me smirk. "Hey Logan, you wanna study together tonight?" she asked in a sultry voice. "Let's go right now" he replied.
Hallelujah, it worked!
I heard footsteps become distant which I think is Jana and Logan going away. Thank God. "So that happened," Charlie said after a few seconds of silence. "You two about to do the same and leave the three of us?" the third guy asked. "Uhm, you know what, just forget I ever came here. sorry to bother" Charlie told them before walking away. "Wait, Charlie is it!" the girl called out. "Yeah?" he muttered.
"Would you, I don't know, want to grab some coffee sometime?" she asked him. My jaw dropped and I covered my mouth in surprise. "Y-yeah, that would be great" he stuttered. I could hear the smile from his voice. I bit my bottom lip hard to prevent myself from squealing. I then heard the shuffling of feet coming towards me. I quickly closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep.
"Oh my god!" a started voice exclaimed. "Holy, is she okay?" I heard the second guy asked. "Is she even alive?" the third one said. "Wait a minute isn't she the girl Logan has been obsessed with lately?" the girl asked. am I hearing things are does she sound not from here? "Oh yeah, she is. But not in a good way though" someone said. I slowly opened my eyes, imitating that I was waking up. I jumped a little at the four faces that were in front of me.
"Bloody hell" I exclaimed. I looked up at them who were eyeing me curiously. "Has anybody told you that it is incredibly rude to watch people while they're sleeping?" I asked, furring my eyebrows to make it feel real. "Oh so you're not from around here are you?" I believe the first guy asked me. I shrugged. "Yeah" I replied. "What are doing here alone? the dismissal was an hour ago" the second guy asked me, raising an eyebrow. "I didn't want to go home yet, so I just sat here because I thought I was the only one left but clearly, I wasn't because four creepy people are staring at me while I sleep" I argued, slightly glaring at them. God, I hope they buy it.
"Sorry, we kinda panicked because you were just... there alone. thought you passed out" the girl asked me. I raised my eyebrows. "For Logan's friends, you guys seem awfully nice." they chuckled. "He isn't a jerk you know? I mean yeah he has his moments but he is a nice guy" the first guy told me. I snorted. "I'll believe it when I see it. Well if you guys would excuse me, I need to go home" I said standing up and picking up my bag. "but I thought you didn't want to go home yet?" the second guy asked me.
"I change my mind," I said while shrugging my right shoulder and grinning at them before walking away.
"Wait, you left your book" the first guy called out. I immediately stopped and turned around to see him holding up my diary. I quickly walked back and snatched it back. I don't usually like it when people hold it. it's very personal to me do it feels like they're kind of trespassing. "Thanks." I awkwardly stood there and stared at their confused faces. I smiled tightly "bye," I said then walked swiftly away.
While I was walking home, I received a call from Jana. "Angel, you are not gonna believe this, I just found something out and I think we need to change up are plans because this is so much better than the other one" she quickly said. I stopped to talk to her for a while and grinned when we finalized everything. I immediately shot a text to both Charlie and Ellie.
Once I got home, I couldn't get what the guy said back in the parking lot about Logan being a nice guy out of my head. Is it possible though? just the thought of him being like that feels weird. I just couldn't imagine it.
