It has been a few days and Logan has continued to become a gentleman, with a slight touch of his usual jerkish antics, which I am thankful for because I've grown to like that characteristic of his. We've gotten close but not too close. I guess you could say we're acquaintances.

But I think I'm ready.

I approached his locker and slid in a note. god, I hope he sees it. If he wants to be friends, he's gotta work for it. I don't want to end up being hurt again. I don't have the strength to deal with another person breaking my heart and trust. I was sitting on my seat in History when I saw Logan enter the room. his eyes scanned the room then stopped when he caught me staring at him. He smiled and made his way to the seat next to me. History was the only class that I had where none of our friends were with us.

"Hey," he greeted me, making me smile at him. He sat next to me "So, I found your note, are you sure you want to go? I mean, as of today, there's a 50% chance that you'll regret getting to know me '' I laughed and shook my head.

Facing him I said "Oh I'm sure that I will, but I'm okay with that. If I've learned anything from my stay here in Canada, or back in England is that I can't judge anyone anymore. Besides, I have a feeling you're going to make my senior year even better" he laughed then grinned at me.

"Okay then, should I pick you up at your house, or do you want to just meet at the coffeehouse?" he asked about our get-to-know date.

I wrote in the note details about the date. The reason for this date is to get to know each other more. nothing else. just friends hanging out.

"up to you" I shrugged. He nodded and said "alright, so I'll pick you up at 6" I smiled then faced the teacher in front quietly saying "Can't wait"

Classes ended and I said goodbye to my friends. Logan offered to drive me home but again, I said no. Once I got home I looked at the time. 3:36. I have a few hours to get ready.

"Hey honey, how's school?" Mum greeted me as I entered the kitchen. She was cutting some vegetables for dinner. I didn't look much like her. people kept on telling me that I got mum's green eyes but I had more of dad's features. I still have mum's personality so it balances it out.

"hi, mum. it was good. is it ok if I go out with a friend later?" I asked for her permission because last time I didn't tell her what I was doing and where I was, bad things happened and we do not want that to happen again. "Sure, do we know this friend of yours?" she asked, not looking at me. "No actually. but he's picking me up at 6 so you'll be able to meet him, then'' I informed her. she stopped chopping then looked at me worryingly which was not a good sign.

"Oh, it's a boy? what's his name? uh, what's he like?" I sighed.

I knew she would react like this. I can't blame her though. she's my mother, she's just worried about what could happen to me. I mean, I am too.

"Logan. he's name is Logan. I don't know what he's like actually. That's why we're hanging out later. He's been bugging me lately about being friends and I told him we should go to the coffeehouse to get to know each other. but from what I've known so far he seems like a gentleman." I told her. she hummed in response before going back to cutting the vegetables. she shook her head

"You sure you want to do that? I mean, after everything that's happened with Jack..." she trailed off. I went near her and grabbed her hands

"Mum, don't worry. This has nothing to do with Jack. we're not dating. we're just friends, well, kind of. after tonight I'll decide whether we'll be friends or not." she chuckled then nodded, placing her hand on my cheek "I just want you to be safe, dear" I smiled then hugged her "I know mum, I know. I won't let him hurt me. I promise." we pulled away as dad entered the kitchen.
