It's graduation day! I'm excited yet nervous at the same time. today was going to be bittersweet, since not only we would be going our separate ways, today is also the day Logan would be flying to Cyprus. Why this early? well, according to the contact person Logan has been talking to, he was needed there immediately for an orientation and such. Plus, it would give him a taste of how his life would be once he started. Which means I have to do it, today. there is no backing out now. Even though I was happy for him, I can't help but feel guilty about what I was planning to do. Like what I kept on telling myself, it would be for the best. I decided to not tell anyone. I feel like this should be just between me and Logan. and our future. hopefully.
It's currently 10 am and my mum was doing my makeup in my bedroom. The ceremony doesn't start in an hour which I think will probably end around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. Logan's flight would be at 5 so it'll give him enough time to change and spend a few hours with us since he's already all packed.
I was wearing a simple white dress that stopped right above my knee. we were required to wear white dresses with heels while the lads had to be wearing long sleeve shirts with a necktie, slacks, and black formal shoes. My graduation cap and gown were hung by the window so it wouldn't be wrinkled. Once my mum finished with my face, she proceeded to go and get ready herself. I thanked her as she walked out of my room.
I stared at my reflection on my vanity. I tried to not cry because let's be real, how can anyone not be emotional when you look at yourself knowing you've made it through graduation. I now only have a few years left before I am officially done with school and moving on with life. Just one step at a time. I heard my phone buzz signaling that I had a new message. I took it and saw who it was. It was in our group chat.
Ellie: alright, nobody cries later, okay? because if I see at least one of us cry I would lose it
Charlie: Then I would make sure to cry later :)
Marc: I would make sure to slap the shit out of you if you do
Dave: aww marc is getting emotional such a cutie
Ellie: I'm serious! besides, I don't want to ruin my makeup
Jana: I'm pretty sure there is no way that our makeup would make it through the ceremony hun.
Claire: yeah and there's a big chance that we would be bawling our eyes out by the end of it
Logan: not me
Me: the guy who called me in the middle of the night last night thinks otherwise
Logan: you shush Richards
I laughed as I heard my dad call me from downstairs. I quickly took my purse and took my cap and down before running to the front of the house meeting my emotional parents. I shyly went inside our car and carefully hung my toga on the handles from the ceiling. I opened our group chats seeing a few more messages while we started going to school for the ceremony.
Chris: okay be nice everyone
Dave: damn I am gonna miss your fatherly figure
Jana: I thought Logan was supposed to be the father figure among you boys?
Marc: it pretty much changed because of Angel
Me: hey! what's that supposed to mean?
Marc: nothing, it's just that ever since you, Logan pretty much loosened up with life
Dave: yeah and now he's like the carefree dad while Chris is the uptight one
Chris: I honestly don't know what to feel about that
