I feel much better. I've been on bed rest for the past two or three days and have been eating quite healthier than I usually do. Mum gave me some ibuprofen and warm milk that made me feel a lot better. I don't know what it is about milk but it has helped me get back on track. Call me childish but it has been a staple in my sick routine ever since. I went down the stairs and smiled at my mum who was in the kitchen.
"Morning!" I chirped and kissed her cheek. She smiled but tilted her head "hi. uhm, why do you have your bag, love? are you going somewhere?" she asked me. I furrowed my eyebrows "School?" I said it was the most obvious thing in the world.
I mean, it kinda is. I already have missed two days of school, wouldn't want to miss another one now, would we? my mother laughed and patted my cheek. "Oh Angel, it's Saturday." she said with a grin on her lips. "what?" I asked her. Is it Saturday? I'm so confused right now.
"Can't blame you. Being sick always has messed you up. so I guess the clock inside you kinda malfunctioned" she told me, laughing a little. I sighed and slumped into a chair that was near.
"Just enjoy the breakfast, bubs," she said then kissed my head. I pouted but then smiled when I saw pancakes, eggs, and bacon. I dug in as my dad got in and kissed my mum, good morning. I smiled at them.
I loved my parents' relationship. They are the perfect blend of playful and serious. they have always supported each other through thick and thin. they argue from now and then but they figure it out sooner or later. I remember telling them when I have a family, I want my husband and children to be like this. And I still kinda hope that I do. I know I'm quite lucky to have loving parents who are together and there for you. I'm aware that others don't.
I know Marc lives with his grandparents because his dad is in jail and his mother is gone. Dave has a jerk of a dad and a ditsy mother. Jana only has a mum as of now because her dad is in the military. and some of us are not that close to their families which sometimes I feel bad for having a good family. I am grateful for that.
"I see you're feeling better," my father said as I devoured the eggs. I smiled and nodded with chewing. "Well, I hope it's okay for us to leave you alone today," he said, making me stop eating. I looked up and looked at them holding each other's waist. "Where are you guys going? wait why are you..." I trailed off. they chuckled at my confused face.
"It's our anniversary baba," he told me, trying not to laugh. my jaw dropped and I covered my mouth with my hands. "Oh my gosh I am so sorry, I forgot!" I exclaimed and stood up. I hugged the two of them. "Happy anniversary! I love you guys!" I said causing them to laugh. "I am very very sorry. it completely slipped my mind" I said putting my hands on my forehead.
"It's alright, love. You've been sick and we all know what happens when you're sick." my dad said rubbing my forearm. I sighed and pouted. "Yeah, but it wasn't ever this intense!" I whined, sitting back down and showing a piece of pancake in my mouth. "Well, it was quite amusing for us so" mum teased me. I sighed. "Wasn't for me," I muttered causing them to laugh.
"It's alright, love. we still love you." Mum said kissing me on the top of my head. I heard dad mumble something to mum which I didn't hear. "What was that?" I asked him with eyebrows furrowed. He grinned "Oh nothing dear," he said then took a seat across me and took a bacon strip from my plate.
"Dad!" he smirked and took a bite on it. "Mum, dad took my bacon!" I whined, earning a giggle from her. "David, leave the girl alone. she's been in bed for two days and hasn't had a proper meal since" she told my dad with a grin. she winked at me signaling that she was on my side. I smiled at my dad who was rolling his eyes.
He playfully glared at me "Fine, but just this once! I'm gonna steal more food from your plate from now on" he said before standing up and grabbing some cereal and milk. I laughed and stook out a hand at mum and high-fived her.
