I was enjoying a nice cup of a hot cocoa on a bench in the backyard and just enjoying the cold. Call me crazy, but I love the cold breeze. Somehow I feel a little more relaxed. I know back in Canada it's also cold but something about the UK's wind is different.

"Good morning" a voice spoke up, startling me. I turned to my right and saw my mum leaning on the sliding door, smiling. I sighed and leaned on the bench. "Mum, you scared me," I said, frowning. She chuckled and came by my side and sat down. "Wanna tell me why you're in your head lately?" she asked me, nudging my shoulder. "Nothing. why do you think that?" I glanced and took a sip on my cup. "Maybe because you're outside here sitting in the cold at 6 in the morning," she said, looking at me, cautiously.

"I've always done this kind of thing, you know that," I told her, laughing a bit. She shook her head. "No I know, it's just that you've only started doing it when you got really sad or depressed," she said, reaching for my hand. I looked down and closed my eyes. "I was hoping you didn't notice that" I laughed humorlessly. "What's wrong?" she asked me, facing towards me. I shrugged.

"Honestly, I don't know. It's just been very weird for me, for the past few days. maybe because my friends found out about what happened with Jack." my mum placed her hand on my back. "They've been very understanding which I am very grateful for and quite supporting when it comes to my well-being but, you know how I feel about that. I don't want their pity and worry. I mean, what's done is done. There's nothing you can do about it but move on." I said with tears coming onto my eyes.

"Honey, I understand what you're feeling. and I respect that, but you have to know that there are people who care for you so much. yes, other people may not know how hard what you're going through, but there are some who would do anything to just take that pain that you're feeling away. that's what your dad and I have been trying to do. and I'm sure that's also what your friends have been trying to do. Angel, dear, don't push those who care and love you away." she told me, cupping my face. A tear rolled down my cheek as she wiped it away. I nodded and leaned on her chest. "I love you so much, and we're always here for you. Never forget that" she said, kissing my head.

We pulled away from each other and smiled. My mum looked at the door and nodded her head. "Come on, let's go inside," she said, pulling me up. We entered the dining room where my dad and a few of our relatives were. We sat down and ate some breakfast. Once we finished, I decided to take a shower just warm up a little and go take a walk around the neighborhood. Grabbing my coat, I called out "Guys, I'm going out for a while!"

"Be back before lunch!" I heard my dad call back. I put on my coat and stepped outside. It was nice to be in this town again. I saw a few kids play around the snow even though it was very little. Glancing at my right, I saw a family throwing snowballs at each other. I smiled at the memories coming back when I was younger. My parents and I would do the same. Sometimes, my dad would bring out different colorings such as paint and food coloring and we would color the snow then throw them on the street just to see if they would stain or not.

I continued to walk until I reached the park where I would usually stay all afternoon and just write in silence. So many memories here. I don't know why but I have been feeling very nostalgic. I've got to admit, I missed Leeds. This is my hometown, where I grew up and found myself through happy and sad times.

"My my my, is that Angel Richards, I see?" I heard the most lovely voice ever. I turned around and saw Ms. Gigi, the bakery owner, and one of my personal friends. She's about 60 years old and is the kindest person ever. "Ms. Gigi!" I exclaimed, hugging her. she hugged back and laughed. "I haven't seen you in a while! Where have you been, darling?" she asked as we pulled away. "We moved to another country. I missed you so much, you have no idea" I said. She smiled warmly and held my hands. "Well I missed my number one customer and helper"
