I hugged myself and leaned my arms on the table, pretending to pay attention to our History teacher. It's freezing as fuck. I shiver as my bottom lip trembles. I carefully looked around and saw no one being bothered by the cold. I should be fine with these types of weather. I felt a tap on my table and faced Logan.
"Hey, you okay? You've been shaking, I'm getting worried" he whispered. I shook my head "I'm fine" I replied shortly, not wanting to get in trouble. I may have lied, I was not feeling fine. I felt like shit. It has only been a week since spring break, why the hell am I having a small fever now? I barely even get sick, this is ridiculous.
I shivered one more time and placed my cold hand around my neck, trying to warm them up. I looked up at the clock and silently groaned. 10 minutes. it's not much but I've got to say, it was the longest ten minutes of my life. Once the bell rang, I sighed in relief. people quickly got up and went out of the classroom. I slowly gathered up my things and stood up, which was a big mistake. A pang of pain came on my head which made the room spin. I lost my balance and I swear I would have hit my head on another table. A pair of strong arms caught me.
"Whoa, easy there, love," Logan said, worryingly. I held on his arm to help myself stand up properly. "I'm fine'' I muttered while he put his hand on my neck and forehead. "You're burning up," he stated in a worried tone.
"Everything alright there?" our teacher asked us. There were a few people there. some were our classmates still fixing up stings while some were there for a new class. a few of them looked in our direction. "Yes!" I said loudly at the same time Logan said "No" I turned to him and glared. I turned back to our teacher and straightened myself up.
"Everythings fine." I looked at Logan. "I'm fine," I said before stomping off to my next class. I don't like the feeling of being weak, which sucks because I am weak right now. This is why I hate being sick. For the rest of the day, I ignored, literally everyone. I don't have the strength to deal with them. heck, I don't have strength at all.
Once I reached my last class, I sat down and sighed. The teacher wasn't there yet so I dunked my head on the table and put my folded arms forward to rest my head. I started to drift away into a deep sleep when someone slammed their books on the table next to me. I shot up causing my head to spin again. I immediately groaned, placing my hand on my head. "Whoa, you look like hell," someone said. I was in so much pain I couldn't even recognize the voice. I slowly turned to the person and it was Dave. I sighed. "Yeah, and you look... normal," I said, shaking my head before dunking my head on the table again. I heard him chuckle. "Okay, grumpy pants," he said.
Suddenly somebody else slammed their stuff on the table on my other side causing me to jolt up, again. "Jesus Christ!" I exclaimed with my eyes closed. "Uhm, I prefer Marc, thank you very much," he said. I groaned and leaned back on my chair. Marc has started speaking up which I am very proud of. But sometimes he could be an absolute pain in ass. "I'm surrounded by idiots" I muttered still with closed eyes. "Oh, I see what Logan's been talking about," Dave said to Marc. "She needs to calm her tits down" Marc replied earning a laugh from Dave.
"Marc, you know I love you and I am very happy that you started to talk more but I honestly prefer you not talking!" I exclaimed, opening my eyes and glaring at him. I earned a few weird looks from other people there. Marc tried not to laugh. "I'm gonna ignore you insulting me because I love you too and I know you're feeling a little icky," he said as if I was a little child. I rolled my eyes which was probably a bad idea because I instantly had the urge to vomit.
I covered my mouth with both of my hands and stopped myself from puking. I felt a hand on my back. "Maybe you should go home, Angel," I heard Dave tell me while rubbing my back. I shook my head. "I'm fine!" I groaned.
"Mrs. Davis, Angel is sick, can you please excuse her for today's lesson?" Dave loudly asked our teacher who I didn't even realize was there already. I turned to glare at him. He grinned at me while he had his arm raised, politely asking our teacher. "Sure dear, I hope you feel better soon," Mrs.Davis told me with a sweet smile on her lips. I gave her a weak smile and carefully stood up, gathering my things. "Why didn't we do that before?" Marc whispered to Dave which I heard causing me to glare at him.
"Because you guys are a bunch of dumb lit-" I was cut off by the bell, signaling the start of the class. I walked towards the teacher's table where Mrs.Davis gave me an excused slip. I turned to my two friends and I stuck out my tongue at them causing them to laugh. Lucky bastards being healthy and all. I slowly went to my locker, making sure I didn't fall or puke along the way.
I went straight home right after I fixed my locker. I dragged my heavy body towards my house. Since I always ride with Logan, and he's still at school, I had to walk for half an hour just to get home. The walk usually takes 10 to 15 minutes but I was walking so slow, a turtle and a snail probably would have easily passed me. I opened the main door and didn't even bother to tell my parents that I was home already. I slowly went up the stairs, clutching on the railings.
"Angel? is that you?" I heard my mum call out. I sighed and turned around and saw both of my parents, looking confused and worried. "Yeah, I'm excused, don't worry" I tiredly told them. my eyes were drooping. I barely could see them. I didn't see them walk towards me so it made me jump a little when I felt a hand under my neck.
"Oh, honey you're so warm." my mum cupped my cheeks. I sighed "I'm fine. I just think I need some rest, is all" I told her. My dad reached out for my arm and squeezed it. "You're so pale, dear. there's no color in your skin right now. you need more than just rest. Up to your room," he said guiding me to my room.
Once I reached my room, they tucked me in and placed kisses on my forehead. I smiled weakly at them. "Get better soon, babe. we'll bring you dinner and some medicine, later on, just rest alright?" my mum said before closing the door. I sighed and closed my eyes. I just don't care about my messy bedroom. I usually don't tolerate stuff just laying around but since I'm bloody tired I didn't mind it. my world is spinning too fast. I snuggled into the fluffiest pillow I had in my bed and instantly went into a deep sleep.
I don't know for how long I've been asleep when I felt someone kiss me on the head. I stirred and lightly groaned. "Sorry love, go back to sleep." I heard a voice whisper. I tried to open my eyes and saw a blurry figure of a man. "Dad?" I asked, resting my head back on my pillow with closed eyes. "Uh.. sure" the voice chuckled. "Love you" I mumbled. I heard him say "I love you too" before going back to sleep.
