Epilogue (Part 2 of 2)

After my conversation with Abuela and Mom, I decided to avoid Heaven. It hadn't been difficult because, for some reason, she never approached me after the day I left her without a word. I saw her missed calls so I assumed that she was mad that I never answered her calls, but she never brought it up; never attempted to talk to me. It was as though a silent agreement was formed between the two of us despite not actually talking about it.

I always see her and Fletcher together. Alam kong normal lang iyon because they were friends. But it was weird because I'd see them acting sweet with one another.

Friends don't act like that. At least not in my book.

It was making me think that what I overheard Heaven say the other day was true―that she really was in love with Fletcher and that she only pursued me in an attempt to take revenge.

Paulit-ulit iyon tumakbo sa isip ko until I believed it.

It was clear―she didn't like me anymore; and that Fletcher and her were in a relationship.

Heaven and I never spoke to each other again... until fourth year came.

It was when I saw Fletcher locking lips with another girl.

Hindi ko na napigilan ang sarili ko. I approached them and held the bastard in his collar before punching him in the face.

It fucking vexed me to see him doing stupid shit behind Heaven's back.

Why would he do that?

He's already fucking lucky to have Heaven.

"Tangina, Sandro, bakit mo ako sinuntok?" he said, pissed. He wiped the blood from his mouth.

I glared at him. "Shut the fuck up. Fucking cheater."

The urge to land my fist on his fucking face for the second time was beguiling. I forced myself to stop and just leave.

I had a fucking test to finish.

The view was a fucking sore to the eye.

Heaven was cupping Fletcher's cheek, padding her thumb over his swollen lip.

Dapat pala sinapak ko nalang siya ulit.

Fletcher noticed my presence. He stared at me and I stared back.

Tinitingin-tingin mo d'yan?

"Oy, Fletch. Bakit bugbog sarado 'yang mukha mo?" Nerwis asked.

Fletcher turned to look at Nerwis. "Wala lang 'to," he said before laughing.

Tss. Wala lang your fucking ass. Are you too scared to admit that I almost beat you to a pulp?

"May isa kasi dito, ayaw pang umamin eh. Torpe kasi," Fletcher continued.

The fuck is he saying?

I pressed my lips together in annoyance when Fletcher wrapped an arm around Heaven's shoulder. He even pulled her against him.

What the fuck.

I heard Nerwis whistle, making me clench my hands into fists.

Heaven and Fletcher started whispering amongst themselves.

Binubulong-bulong niyong dalawa d'yan?!

My jaw ticked in annoyance.

The reason why I avoided Heaven was so that she wouldn't become a target of my family. If they discovered that I was meeting Heaven, they would further push my marriage with Aquisha. I already talked to the latter; she told me that she wasn't in favor of the marriage as well because she didn't want to tie herself just yet. We were in the same boat, which was good. However, it was our families' call, not ours.
