"ONE, TWO, THREE, one..." the Chinese nuno counted.
She stopped doing the choreography and with one hand, she stood in akimbo, completely unimpressed of Dean's awful dancing skills... or the lack thereof.
"Alam mo, Dean, mabuti pa 'yong kawayan marunong sumabay." Tutti pointed Rum's tiny bamboo plant that's swaying along with the sea breeze.
Snow giggled and I smirked before sipping on my milk tea and while lounging on the cushion settled inside the garden.
"Akala ko ba gusto mong maging PE teacher?" the nuno asked with eyes narrowing into slits.
"PE teacher sa sports! Putanginang, may sayaw-sayaw pa pala 'to!" Dean fired back.
"Wala kang magagawa kasi nandyan ka na! Malapit na 'yong UP Days kaya umayos ka kung ayaw mong mas mapahiya!"
The College of Teacher Education tasked Dean's department to present a dance performance on UP Days. Their professor said they have to perform each per requirement of their major subject. He then asked the ever talented nuno for help. Snow was joining them every training so that her boyfriend would somehow feel comfortable in dancing.
"Naku, kung hindi lang talaga sa suhol mong seafood mukbang... From the top!" she ordered.
"One, two, three- hala!" The nuno gasped and covered her mouth with her palm while staring at the broken pot with the sprouting succulent plant.
Nabangga niya 'yon nang hindi sinasadya pagkembot niya kanina. Napatayo naman ako para lumapit. Dean and Snow stared at Rum's little succulent on the ground too.
Yes, it's Rum's. Being a plantito has been his hobby these days. Mula sa pag-aalaga ng mga tao ay nagventure na rin siya sa pagpapalaki ng mga halaman. Katuwang niya si Snow hindi lang sa gawaing-bahay kundi pati na rin sa gardening.
We were enveloped by silence until Dean had broken it with a peal of laughter.
"Lagot ka kay Rum niyan. Iyong bunso niya pa talaga ang binasag mo!" he taunted.
Dali-daling umuklo si Tutti at isa-isang pinulot ang mga nabasag na paso sa lupa. Snow squatted to help her too.
"Beh, bilisan mo. Kailangan nating maligpit iyong ebidensya bago pa dumating si Rum-"
"Anong meron?"
Tutti ceased talking and stiffened when we heard Rum curiously approaching. I stifled a chuckle.
The nuno immediately stood up and hide the parcels she picked up behind her. Rum's forehead creased while looking at her.
