Thick clouds grew lazy in the sky, little droplets of water fell down. One of them touched Foxpaw's ear, she just hissed and flicked her ear. The sky turns grayish, larger drops of water begin to fall quicker.
Flatpaw scurried over to the apprentices' den, hissing whenever the water fell on him. Foxpaw couldn't judge him, the water was icy cold and she had to bite back a yowl.
Mosspelt carried a plump squirrel over to her. "Here." she mewed, she prodded it with her skinny paws. "I haven't seen you eat in moons!"
Foxpaw gave her a grateful look and dug into the squirrel. Some of its fur was filled with mud, she couldn't help but wrinkle her nose.
"When can you show us territory?" she mumbled through her full mouth.
Mosspelt touched her shoulder with her tail. "Tomorrow." she murmured, then she padded off to the warriors' den.
But I can't wait! Foxpaw wanted to tell her so badly, but there was no point in running off to her to tell her a childish thing.
Foxpaw just let out a tired yawn, she limped over to the apprentices' den. Flatpaw curled on a soft feathery bedding. Joypaw laid beside him.
Joypaw lifted his bleary eyes at her. "Hey Foxpaw!" he murmured tiredly. "Streampaw is at sunset patrol, so you have extra space."
Foxpaw nodded her thanks, she lifted her head to taste the den. It smelled of cats, it didn't have the warm milky scents that the nursery had. Also the warmth that covered beddings every time.
Foxpaw sighed, she had to get used to it one day. She curled down in between Joypaw and Flatpaw.
The sun sweeped the sky, dew scattered on leaves and made the sandy ground damp. Mosspelt and Cornerear pushed inside the apprentices' den.
"Foxpaw, Flatpaw!" they hissed at them. "Wake up. You too Joypaw, Thrushfur wants you outside sharp!"
Flatpaw bounced up, his fur parted every way. Foxpaw instead walked over to them normally, she licked Mosspelt's shoulder. All four of them padded outside, Foxpaw lifted her head to scent the air. Many plants had herby and strong tangy scents.
This was just how Foxpaw imagined it! "Okay," Cornerear stopped. "This is BreezeClan."
Foxpaw glanced to see a river, and a tree took them over to BreezeClan's part of the territory. The territory scented of pine trees and crow-food. Watery scents wafted over to Foxpaw as well.
Flatpaw wrinkled his nose. "Yuck!" he complained. "I hope other Clans aren't like this as well."
"Let's check out CliffClan!" Foxpaw meowed. "I always wanted to see it!"
Mosspelt nodded, she led the cats over to some mountains that stretched, grass was growing beneath it. Foxpaw saw a camp beneath it, some cats were climbing the mountains as well.
Then Cornerear retreated, Foxpaw saw something in him that disturbed him. Foxpaw wondered what it was. "Lets see SlopeClan." he meowed bitterly, Foxpaw found a hint of anger in his voice.
They found herself in a moor, Foxpaw scented cats nearby, suddenly she was tumbled down by a she-cat, her teeth were bared. She let out a yowl of triumph.
"Intruders!" she yowled.
Two cats came, one she-cat and a tom. The tom's gray fur bristled in anger, and the she-cat stared at Foxpaw and Flatpaw, as if she had found their weakness.
"CloudClan." the she-cat sp0ke. Her silver pelt began to bristle as well. "What do you want for SlopeClan?" her voice turned to a low growl.
"Nothing," Cornerear confirmed grimly. "We are just teaching our new apprentices territories." he drew his tail by Foxpaw and Flatpaw.
