"So?" Foxclaw demanded, her tail brushed on the surface of the rocky floor.

"Do you like me?" he blurted out, Foxclaw could feel his body turn hot.

Foxclaw's eyes narrowed, no . . . I like Featherpaw! I really do! I don't like you Joysong, I'm sorry, I just don't!

Foxclaw hesitated, she wanted to be invisible and sneak away from Joysong. Hoping he never had asked that question.

"N . . . no!" Foxclaw wailed. "I don't. I'm sorry Joysong, my heart belongs to someone else."

Joysong's eyes grew wide. "What? Who?"

"You'll never understand." Foxclaw breathed. "And you'll be angry with me, of course!"

Foxclaw leaped on the tree branch. Taking each step on the branch, she could hear Joysong's faint questions.

"Who do you like?" his voice became louder when he followed Foxclaw down.

Foxclaw turned around, her green eyes grew thick with sadness and sorrow. "You'll be angry, I must not tell you."

Leaping into a bramble bush, Foxclaw ran through the trees. Little droplets of water fell down, Foxclaw could feel Joysong's pawsteps behind her. Hearing the yowls of distress behind her.

"Why can't you tell me?" he whined. "I won't be angry! I promise! Just tell me the truth!"

Foxclaw closed her eyes tightly, hoping the questions would stop. She ran into the tree where the small hollow was at. She picked up winterberry leaves and hid the hollow as she entered. He won't remember where the place was, and I doubt the winterberry will give off.

Foxclaw padded into the cave, feeling the moist air fill her pelt. She wished someone was here to comfort her. Tasting the air, she found CliffClan's stale scent on where she was, fixing her nose on Featherpaw she padded in the big hollow curved around to fix a way in.

Foxclaw watched as the place began to become pitch black. Her breath quickened, she took a turn feeling a strong breeze almost carrying her off her paws. She swallowed, pushing out a small crack and seeing that she was on a crag.

Foxclaw padded back, and she scented a few CliffClan warriors near. One of them was Thicketstripe, and Sharptail. Foxclaw shivered as she felt her heart thump harder, she had to find Featherpaw to reveal her secrets to him!

When the two warriors had left, Foxclaw leaped down the crag. She saw a cat's tail twitch, the cat came out, she noticed it was Featherpaw.

"Featherpaw!" Foxclaw purred.

"Foxpaw!" he called back, bounding up to meet her.

"It's Foxclaw now." Foxclaw corrected him.

Featherpaw's eyes grew wide excitedly. "Cool! I'm Featherheart!"

Foxclaw tilted her head. "Is Creakpaw a warrior yet?"

"Yup!" Featherheart replied. "Creakstep!"

Foxclaw nuzzled his chest and padded back. She missed Featherheart, but it had only been a day . . . she knew she liked him, but did he like her?

Featherheart escorted Foxclaw to the cave, she could feel his warm body against her flank. Foxclaw blinked a couple of times, and Featherheart halted.

"Is something troubling you?" he asked, his voice thick with concern.

Foxclaw hesitated. "Yes," she finally replied. "If you don't like it, it's okay. I . . . just do."
