Foxkit padded through the undergrowth. Her paws felt raw and sore from walking so long, CloudClan was at a fast pace. They didn't seem tired.
Of course! They're fast! Foxkit spat in her mind. Flatkit looked at her wearily. "All I want is to curl up in my bedding and sleep!" he complained.
"Sorry." Foxkit mewed reluctantly. "But we made it this far. Do you wanna give up now?"
"No," Flatkit sighed. His fur began to bristle in anger, but Foxkit could tell he was too tired to argue.
Finally CloudClan pushed inside some bushes, by the sides there were four huge rocks, each for the leaders.
"We're here!" Foxkit gasped. "It's bigger than I thought. What do you think of Flatkit?" she turned to face her brother.
Flatkit shrugged. "We can hide in those bushes!" Flatkit suggested.
Foxkit nodded in approval, she hoped Goldentail wasn't looking for them. Foxkit skidded over to the bushes, she laid down curling her tail on her nose. Flatkit closed his eyes wearily.
Foxkit nudged him, her green eyes blazed. "Wake up!" Foxkit sneered. "There's Joypaw and Streampaw!"
"Okay?" Flatkit mewed wearily.
Foxkit let out a small hiss in her breath, suddenly she watched Joypaw pad near them. Foxkit closed her eyes tightly, imagining that she would turn invisible along with Flatkit.
"Foxkit ,Flatkit?" Foxkit looked up to see Joypaw, his green eyes blazing in confusement. "What are you doing here?" he sneered.
"I . . ." Foxkit stammered. "We wanted to know what the Gathering looked like!"
"You'll know when your apprentices." Joypaw promised. "But, you have to get out of here! Do you know your way?"
Foxkit nodded, she didn't want to tell him she followed them. Then he would ask more questions.
"Fine," Joypaw sighed. "I'll escort you out. Stay here!"
Foxkit flattened her ears in embarrassment, she watched as Joypaw dashed out to Streampaw.
"I have to make dirt." Joypaw breathed to her.
"I thought you went already." Streampaw meowed, she narrowed her eyes until they were slit.
"I have to go again." Joypaw insisted.
Streampaw looked at him cautiously, but she quickly turned her head around to speak to another apprentice by her. Joypaw dashed by Foxkit again.
"Come on!" he yowled. "I'll take you near BreezeClan territory. You can find your way." he sighed, turning his green gaze at her. "You know your territory right?"
"Partial." Flatkit admitted blinking his sleepiness away.
Joypaw picked them up by their scruff, they dashed through the forest until they were by the river. Foxkit sniffed the fishy scents, and the pine trees that grew nearby.
"Just keep going straight." Joypaw told them. "Be careful! Remember there's a fallen tree you gotta climb."
Foxkit nodded, at least she got to know the Gathering area well. She hoped when they got back Goldentail and Bumbletail wouldn't be furious.
Foxkit imagined her father staring at her in disappointment while making the kits clean out dens all day. Best not think about that! Foxkit shivered.
Once they got near the gorse tunnel, Flatkit halted. "Wait!" he hissed. "Won't Goldentail see us?" he reminded her.
"Right!" Foxkit remembered, she swished her head until she wasn't thinking anymore. "Over by the nursery!"
