Foxclaw stumbled back to camp, her paws dragged on the sandy floor. Icepaw, Riverpaw, and Fernpaw were racing ahead. Foxclaw still saw that the silver tom was still stunned by what had happened to him, if Foxclaw wasn't there, he would have been crow-food for sure!

Foxclaw leaped up the SharingRocks, sitting down and giving her pelt good grooming. Joysong was already up there, he was gazing at Foxclaw when she first came but then changed his gaze to Mosspelt. Mosspelt stared at him for a few heartbeats and shook her head padding away. So . . . he's trying to make me jealous? Great StarClan! Why can't you show me some mercy?

Flatpaw had leaped up the SharingRocks, Streamcloud followed behind him. "Hey Foxclaw!" Flatpaw greeted. "I've been working day and night, and I think I'm going to be a warrior soon!"

"Or today." Foxclaw purred, giving her brother a lick between his ears.

Joysong grumbled something under his breath, Streamcloud pricked her ears up and padded to him. "What's wrong?" she mewed quietly to the brown tabby tom.

Joysong didn't look at her, his green eyes scanned something else. "Nothing, okay?" he snarled in reply. "Let me handle my own things, won't you?"

Streamcloud blinked and Joysong jumped down the SharingRocks. Streamcloud glanced at Foxclaw, confused. Foxclaw saw there was love for her fellow clanmate, but not true love. Foxclaw looked down, she didn't like Joysong, so why did he expect her to get so mushy over him?

Foxclaw shuffled a bit, Icepaw climbed up the SharingRocks, skidding to a halt as she saw the cats. "Foxclaw can I eat now?" she begged. "My stomach is growling for food!"

Foxclaw saw Icepaw's hopeful eyes. "No," she replied as smoothly as she could. "Crookednose, Bumbletail and her kits haven't eaten yet."

"But maybe you can see if Crookednose can share with you." Streamcloud pointed out, her tail rested on Flatpaw's shoulder. "I saw him carrying a huge rabbit."

Icepaw let out a squeal of excitement and bounded down, running over to the elders' den calling Crookednose's name.

Foxclaw closed her eyes and lifted her head down, feeling the heat of the huge rock as she rested her chin on his. She shuffled a bit, pulling her paws and legs under her body to feel the warmth of the rock. Why hasn't Lavenderspot spoken to me? Have I finished all that she wanted me to do? Foxclaw shifted uncomfortably, finally had the lilac cat leave her alone to continue her life in peace?

Foxclaw stood in a grassy area, wind was driving all over the place. Foxclaw could feel the warmth of greenleaf grab her coat, where am I? She wondered, don't tell me Lavenderspot has something to tell me.

Like she had imagined, the lilac she-cat padded from some bushes. She was alone, Pebbletail wasn't with her. Foxclaw shivered at the sight of the dead warrior, or medicine cat, she has a herby scent on her.

Foxclaw lifted her head, Lavenderspot faced her, her eyes glittered. "Foxclaw, are you done?" she mewed, lifting her head up to the silhouette sky.

Foxclaw lashed her tail and faced the dead cat. But she didn't flinch.

"There is stuff you want, but not stuff you need. When you want to get what you want, you end up hurting others." Lavenderspot murmured what she had told her before. "be careful Foxclaw."

Again? Can StarClan at least tell me something useful?

Foxclaw pushed into the hollow in the bottom of the tree, she wriggled inside. Feeling the emptiness of the cave press on her pelt, shivering. She continued walking into the pitch black tunnel. Foxclaw jumped back in alarm, a brown tabby cat padded over to her.
