When Foxpaw had entered camp, she saw anxious cats strolling around camp. Applenose and Creakpaw talked to each other, their eyes grew wide as they saw Featherpaw and Foxpaw enter.
"Great StarClan you're all right!" Applenose mewed, her voice trembled. "I was sure you guys were crow-food."
"We were sure we were too." Foxpaw replied truthfully.
Featherpaw nodded, Creakpaw nose twitched. He stretched, his long tail lashed. "I was thinking of taking a nap before the battle. You guys need it too, you are pretty cold."
"Okay!" Foxpaw ran to the apprentices' den and beckoned his tail inside. "In my opinion the warriors' den is the best! They have a little waterfall for water that soothes you. But it has water when it rains, so when it doesn't it's dry."
"Okay, okay." Creakpaw sneered. "Nobody asked."
Featherpaw lashed his tail protectly over Foxpaw. "Stop being so rude! How would you like it if I was ignoring you?" his voice had turned as sharp as a thorn.
Applenose wriggled into some soft moss and looked up. "Yeah Creakpaw, I found her comment pretty cool!"
Creakpaw rolled his amber eyes and dug his head into the wad of moss. Foxpaw laid by Featherpaw, his pelt was cold but Foxpaw didn't mind. She just wanted a good night's sleep.
Foxpaw narrowed her eyes, she watched a mouse scurry off into some brambles. She didn't give up the hunt, crawling closer she leaped and pounced on it. Biting her fangs into the mouse, she devoured the mouse in a few heartbeats and stretched.
Suddenly she found herself in a bramble bush, it's sharp claws poked her. She let out wails of dismay as she noticed she was trapped. Suddenly the place she was hunting disappeared. The trees, the lush grass, the brambles. All!
She found herself in the apprentices' den again, Featherpaw poked her shoulders. "Wake up! We're leaving!"
Foxpaw blinked wearily and nodded, she stood up stretching. She felt ready to fight, blood ran through her veins. Flatpaw had been waiting outside the den, he prodded a thin green leaf that was crushed.
"This is a ragwort leaf, it'll help you strengthen up." Flatpaw told her. "Hollypool told me to give it to you."
Foxpaw nodded and munched the leaf up. Her body tingled with excitement. Featherpaw, Applenose, and Creakpaw were huddled together where the group of battling cats were.
She ran over to them and greeted them, Applenose fur bristled. "I can't wait to claw BreezeClan's face off!" she mewed happily. "They shouldn't mess with us!"
Featherpaw let out a purr of agreement. Sunstar and Redstar, who were leading the cats, called them.
"CliffClan! CloudClan! Head out!" They both called each of their Clan's names.
Redstar halted, and most of the cats bumped into each other. Creakpaw muttered something angrily under his breath that Foxpaw couldn't make out.
"Sunstar," Redstar mewed. "We know a faster route to go. If you only followed us."
Sunstar nodded. "Very well Redstar, take us through that route."
Redstar turned running near SlopeClan's territory, he made a turn and entered some undergrowth. He sniffed some trees and beckoned his tail to a small hollow in the trees. That's where Featherpaw took me! Foxpaw gasped, recognizing the place.
