Elle's POV

I wasn't feeling well, at all. My stomach hurt so badly. I didn't want to do the show today, even though it was one of my last ones. I climbed in my car and drove to the theater, leaving Catlynn at home. I didn't want her to see me in pain and get worried.

My stomach cramped up again once I parked the car. I quietly said, "Ow!" and went into the theater, in a lot of pain. I went to my dressing room and curled up on the couch, not getting into costume or anything.

"Hey, Elle, are you okay?" Jessica asked, coming in. "Where's Cat?"

"My stomach hurts really badly." I said. Jessica sat on the couch with me, and said, "Please don't tell Cat, whatever you do. I don't want her to get worried." I almost started crying, and Jessica said, "Hey. If it does get to the point where you need to go to the hospital, I have to tell her. It's the right thing to do. Get some rest though, we'll get an understudy." Jessica put a blanket over me and said, "Get some rest, Elle. You work too hard."

"What about Cat?" I asked.

"I'll call her. She's okay, Elle. She's a good kid."

_________
Catlynn's POV

I was sitting in my room, worried about why Elle wouldn't let me come to the theater with her. Maybe she was planning a surprise for me. But it seemed more somber than that when she left.

Ryan told me to journal when I was feeling stressed, so I pulled out my purple journal and started writing a note for the cast.

Hi.
I don't know where Elle is. I'm stressed about it and I don't know what to do. I miss her.
~Catlynn.

I sighed, and sat down on the living room couch, crying.

Then, my phone rang.

________
Jessica's POV

I had just gotten off stage and ran back to Elle's dressing room to see how she was doing. I found Elle curled up on the couch, shaking.

"Elle? What's wrong?" I said, putting my hand on her back.

"It got worse..." Elle said.

"Do you need to throw up?" I asked, getting ready to hold Elle's hair back. Elle shook her head, and said, "It's not that kind of pain." Elle sighed and got herself comfortable, and I said, "Are you going to be okay?"

Elle shrugged her shoulders, and said, "I'm just worried about Cat." I nodded, and said, "I have to go. You hang in there." I waved to her, and went on stage.

_________

After Big Fun, Ryan ran up to me and frantically tapped me on the shoulder.

"What?" I asked.

"Jess...call Catlynn. Something's wrong with Elle." I ran back to Elle's dressing room and found her breathing heavily.

"Jessica...something is definitely wrong." Elle said in between breaths. Ryan ran to his phone and called 911, and I grabbed my phone and called Catlynn.

_________
Catlynn's POV

"Hello?" I said.

"Catlynn, it's Jessica. Um, something's wrong with Elle. Ryan called for an ambulance and we're going to the hospital. Katie's coming to grab you." I started to panic, and Jessica must've noticed, because she said, "Take a deep breath, Catlynn. It's going to be okay, I promise. I'll try to be there, but I'm riding in the ambulance with Elle." Jessica hung up, and I ran to my room and cried in my pillow, waiting for Elle to come and hug me and sing to me.

I then remembered the kit Ryan gave me. I pulled it out and looked at all the pictures. I never thought I would lose Elle, but here we are. I started crying, then took Elle's sweatshirt and took a long sniff and held it close to me.

I heard a knock on the door and Katie walked in and hugged me. "You got everything?" I brought my journal, my picture frame, and Elle's sweatshirt.

"So, um, I'll let you call Jessica in the car and have her explain the situation. Elle has to stay at the hospital for a day or two. You, me, and Jessica are staying at a hotel." I nodded, and got into Katie's car and called Jessica.

"Hey, Catlynn, um, Elle's in surgery." Jessica said when she answered the phone.

I nearly burst into tears. "What?" Katie looked behind her and gave me a sad smile.

"Her appendix burst. She had a really bad stomachache and couldn't walk because of the pain." I full on sobbed, and Jessica said, "Ryan's meeting you and Katie at the 7-11. He's getting you a slushie and you're going to go with him. Katie's getting the hotel room."

When we pulled into the 7-11, Ryan hugged me tight and handed me a slushie.

"Will...will Elle be okay?" I asked.

Ryan kissed me on the head and said, "I hope so, Sunshine. Let's go." I grabbed my backpack and my slushie and got into Ryan's car.

Ryan turned around and said, "Are you doing okay?" I shrugged, and said, "I want Elle!"

Ryan said, "You probably won't be able to hug her, but you can hold her hand." I full on sobbed. All I wanted was to hug Elle. It was the only thing that could make me think it'll be okay. Ryan seemed to notice this, and said, "You can hug me and Jess all you want. I know it isn't the same, but it might make you feel a little better. Now, let's go."

I nodded, and got myself mentally prepared to see Elle.
