8. One on one

So far Liam had spent one on one time with all of the boys... Except zayn.

He talked to Louis. Obviously he had to I mean he seemed crushed.

He talked to Niall, I mean he was the first to know Liam was back. They make plans to hang out all the time.

And Harry well.. He was very difficult. He was stubborn and just plain mean. Liam doesn't know what to do but he tried talking to him. All he got back were Louis this and Louis that. They got no where that day.

The only person he hasn't talked to is well you know.

It's not because Liam is scared he's just worried that zayn will bring perrie along. It's actually really annoying. He's not the only one that thinks so.

We go out and try to have a guys night when "oh yeah let me just tell perrie". Things get pretty weird when she's around. No one really jokes around. Liam wonders if it's been like that since they started dating. It's probably only because I'm there he thinks.

But Liam really wants to talk to zayn and get to know him again. He doesn't want to sound rude.. But then again that never stopped perrie from talking to Liam like he was nothing. That's okay though..

So Liam is pacing and his heart is racing and he doesn't know what to do. He's got his phone in his hand and his left hand is sweaty.

It's now or never

It's ringing now. And Liam doesn't know why he's so nervous.

"Hello?" Zayn. He sounds so beautiful... Umm I mean.

"Hi" Liam shakily replies.

"Li what's up" Liam is smiling now and he doesn't know why.

"Uh yeah I was just wondering if you would like to hang out-" before he can finish his thought zayn is interrupting him.

"Yeah that'd be great let me just tell-"

"NO" Liam covers his mouth quickly.

"What?"

"I mean I uh.. I was kind of hoping it'd be just.. Me and you" he whispers the last part. There's shuffling on the other side and he's getting ready for rejection.

"Oh yeah of course sorry it's just-" Liam's so happy.

"Yeah ok I'll see you soon then" he hangs up and his heart could just explode.

It's time.. Not that he's been counting or anything but he has.

Zayn had texted him saying he'd be here in 20 minutes. And well... It's been 20 minutes.

Liam's just siting on the couch eating a pop tart. Strawberry. There's a knock and he bolts towards the door.

"Hey li" and then he's being hugged and God zayn smells so good. He's warm and soft and they probably hug for a beat to long but no one needs to know.

"Hey" Liam's smiling and blushing and it's embarrassing but zayn a here and he's smiling too so it's ok.

They sit on the couch. Maybe a little to close but no one needs to know that either. They just stare for a while and it's nice. Really nice. So nice.

Nice

"So uh how's it going?" Liam stupidly asks. As if he doesn't already know.

"Good now" and Liam blushes more and zayn smiles and it's almost that smile he used to give Liam when they were in school.

Liam's heart is about to stop.

"Oh that's good" he giggles and it looks like zayn is about to 'aw' but he stops himself.

"So what do you want to do?" Liam really didn't have anything planned for today.

"I don't know" zayn gets up and takes Liam's hand. The gesture seemed so natural but then again he's with perrie he probably does it all the time. That thought makes him deflate slightly.

They're in his bedroom now and zayn lays down. He pats the space next to him and Liam hesitantly lays down next to him.

"So" zayn draws out the o. It sounds so smooth oh god now is not the time for naughty thoughts Liam!

He's never really ha bought thoughts. Can you imagine why? Pfft the things zayn does to him.

"So what now" Liam questions.

"I don't know lets just lay here" zayn is smiling an his eyes are twinkling and Liam is definitely going to stop breathing soon.

He nods and they subconsciously scoot closer.

Liam looks into his eyes. Those beautiful eyes that's he loved. He thought it was love back then. While in the center they told him it wasn't and he believed them. Now he's pretty sure it was love.

Oh god it was love.

It was real.

He loves zayn.

"Feel" zayn takes his hand and places it on his speeding heart.

"Feel" Liam does the same and zayn feels his speeding heart.

"I've never felt like this around perrie" zayn whispers. And that makes Liam's heart flutter in different ways.

"Your with perrie" Liam whispers. They're still holding hands. Liam's face feels warm.

"For now" zayn shrugs and Liam may feel a little excited but no one needs to know.

"Oh" Liam blushes and zayn cups his cheek. He runs his cheekbone with the pad of his finger. This is so nice. So right. Even if zayn is technically in a relationship this feels 100x better.

"Yeah" they're noses are almost touching.

They look at each other.

Their eyes

Noses

Cheeks

... Lips.

And well whatever happens, happens.
