#CAC23
The following day I saw Margo on the corridor of the school and if I'm correct, she's with a guy. Nasa bulletin board sila at nag-uusap. I fixed my bag and approached them.
"Hi!" I greeted
Lumingon agad sila sa'kin. Margo looked at me from head to foot.
"Bagay sa'yo," she complimented
I smiled and glanced at my uniform. "Thanks! Bagay din sa'yo."
She strike a pose that made me laugh. "Medyo maluwag lang yung palda ko but overall, I like it."
She noticed that I was looking at the man beside her. "Oh! Si Cole nga pala, kaklase din natin. We just met like a few minutes ago before you came."
The guy glanced at me and offered his hand. "Cole nga pala."
I took her hand. "Talliah. Lia for short."
I noticed he was wearing glasses and braces. He's also skinny and a few inches taller than me. Overall, he's a nerdy type of guy. Yung tipong mukhang matalino na class president.
He nodded and released my hand. "Course?"
"Business management," I answered
"Major in?" aniya
"Still thinking about that. How 'bout you?" I asked
"Business administration, major in financial management," he answered
I nodded. "Cool."
"Lincoln? Lincole? Wait what?" I asked confused
I heard Margo chuckled. "Sabi ko sa'yo malilito din siya sa pagpronounce ng pangalan mo eh."
I looked at Cole and he scratched his head. "It's Lincole by the way. Don't mind my name. Hindi ko alam bakit ayun yung pinangalan sa'kin ng nanay ko. And nope, I am not related to Abraham Lincoln."
"Oh, sorry mali pala pagkabasa ko. So Lincole is your first name and-
"Sanchez, my surname."
Margo looked at me while pointing to Cole. "See? That's the point."
"We are one of those people who are victims of mispronouncing our names," Cole sighed
"Ang unique nga eh tsaka ang ganda ng pangalan niyo," I commented
Margo winked at me. "Well at first I thought my name was unique not until I watched this teen age rom-com film.
My forehead creased. "What film?"
"Paper Towns," Cole said
Margo frowned. "Now I prefer being called 'Mango' instead."
"Matulis naman baba mo kaya bagay din," Cole teased
Margo glared at him. "Liar! Hindi kaya matulis baba ko. Diba Lia?"
I chuckled and shook my head. "Hindi naman."
Ilang sandali ay tumingin ako sa bulletin board namin. I saw from yhe corner of my eyes that they did the same.
"Nga pala, excited na ako para bukas."
"Welcome party for freshmen," I said as I read the paper that was pinned on the bulletin board.
