#CAC34
"When did you start doing business?"
Inangat ko ang paningin kay Ate Emma. Andito kami ngayon sa kusina at tinutulungan niya ako sa pagbake dahil may mga bago akong orders.
I also added new products on the menu like cinnabon, cheesecake in a can, dream cake, s'mores brownie cups, cupcakes and cinnamon banana cups.
"Highschool, fourth year ako nun nung naisipan kong magbusiness," sagot ko habang isa isang nilalagay ang brownies sa box.
"Has this always been your passion or is something that you really love to do in the first place?" she asked
I was caught off guard by her question.
"Uhm, to be honest at first it was just my hobby. I got bored during summer vacation and I wanted to try something new. So I tried baking then I fell in love with it. Sounds corny but it's the truth."
She chuckled. "I see and no it's not corny. You're very blessed because you are able to pursue your passion. Not everyone is fortunate to do so."
I looked at her.
I watch her as she put on the sugar glaze on the cinnabon.
"Yeah. I mean not everyone has the means," I said
"Your parents must be supportive of you then?" she asked
Took me a while to answer that considering that I wasn't even sure what I was going to say.
"Well, it seems to me that they're against it at first. I mean not totally against, it's just that they wanted me to something else."
She turned to me, brows furrowed. "What do you mean?"
I sighed and closed the box. "My course is business management right? So they kinda wanted me to find another profession in that field rather than being a businesswoman, you know, having my own bake shop and all."
She slowly nodded and pursed her lips.
"I get it," she said
"Business managament is such a broad and flexible course. You can be an entrepreneur, a sales market assistant, financial manager, clerk. Like they want me to work in a company. Malaki daw kita."
"Yeah, I understand but I know you, I mean do you consider it? Working in a company?"
I sighed and bit my lip. "I mean at first I did. I widened my options. That's also why they suggested it. I should wide my opitions daw. So yeah, I thought about it. Sinabi na agad nila yun sa'kin umpisa palang noong pinasok ko ang pagbubusiness."
"And in the end?" she asked
I looked at her and smiled awkwardly.
"I thought about it for a long time and I absolutely didn't want it. I felt like it wasn't for me. Like I know that I will not be happy if I work in a company. Baking will always be my passion."
I paused and looked away.
"But..."
"But what?"
Ilang segundo ako bago magsalita ulit.
"But my goal is to own a shop and I still don't have enough money for it. My earnings aren't enough and so as my savings. Hanggang ngayon naman patuloy padin ako sa pag-iipon," I paused
Kumuha ulit ako ng panibagong box na nakapatong sa gilid ng counter at nilagay naman doon ang cinnabons.
"So I thought my business is still small. I wasn't sure if I'll be able to buy a shop so that's where I considered working in a company firm. Like let's say for a couple of years maybe. In that way, I can earn more. Tapos kapag malaki na ang ipon ko, makakapagpatayo na ako ng sariling shop."
