One year later
"Y/n, come on we need to take pictures!"
"Coming!" I grabbed my graduation cap and ran over to my friend, Lisa.
After going back to school, I took extra classes and I was able to graduate a year early with a job already lined up for me. I focused and took part time jobs so that I was also able to move out of my parents house and get an apartment.
I met Lisa in one of my classes and we grew really close.
We linked arms with each other and posed for pictures that both of our parents were taking. After pictures were done, my mom walked up to me.
"I can't believe you're all done with school," she said in excitement.
I smiled. "I'm excited. I get to do what I came here to do, and I'll enjoy every minute of it."
"So do you and Lisa have any plans after we take you guys out to lunch?"
I shook my head. "Nope, she's just coming over my apartment and we're just going to hang out."
"Alright, honey." she kissed me on the cheek. "Ready to go?"
I nodded my head and told Lisa we were going to lunch.
Our parents took us out to a nice restaurant and we were all able to talk freely about what the future brings us.
"In a few months, I'll be starting at the company." I said.
"I can't believe you were able to get a job so easily!" Lisa said pouting. "I've been looking since last year and no one will hire me."
"If only I were a higher up at that company I would get you a job there in a heartbeat. How about this, if you still need a job and I've been there for a few months, I will put a good word for you."
Lisa squealed and pulled me in for a hug. "Did I ever tell you you're the greatest best friend I could have ever asked for?"
I playfully shrugged. "Oh, stop." We then giggled and continued eating our food.
"So y/n, I have to ask. How were you able to get a job so easily? Did you intern anywhere?" Lisa's mom asked.
My dad answered. "Oh yeah, she interned last year as an assistant. She even got to go to--"
"I was an assistant." I interrupted. "It was just simple assistant work, no biggie."
I subtly glared at my dad and he mouthed sorry to me.
It's been a year since I left Korea. I haven't talked about it much and whenever anyone asks what kind of internship I did, I just tell them it was simple assistant job. I put the internship on my resume and when I got hired at the company now, they told me that they would be stupid if they didn't hire me. Despite what happened, Bang PD still gave me a glowing recommendation, and I've always been thankful.
I kept in touch with Amy a lot. She told me when she told Jongin about the baby, he couldn't have been any happier. He was so excited about the baby, he asked her to move in with him. Both of their parents were worried at first because she was having a baby before marriage, but Jongin promised that he would always take care of Amy and the baby and once he gets a better paying job, he will ask her to marry him. Luckily, when Bang PD heard about Amy and Jongin's relationship, he supported them wholeheartedly and even gave Jongin a raise. He was able to support Amy during the pregnancy, and they are now engaged.
Their baby, Somin, was born a few months ago, and she is just adorable. I got to see her through my video chats with Amy. They even wanted me to be her godmother. Of course, I was shocked and tried to refuse seeing as I'm across the globe, but they would not take no for an answer. They didn't have to beg too long when I finally said yes.
