For a moment, with all of the excitement going on at the asylum; I had forgotten to check and see how Sally and Schroeder were getting along. I looked down and Lucy had already joined them. She must've climbed up on Schroeder while Sienna and Elijah were ready to create a distraction for us. "I think we have everyone we need right here." I smiled. "Schroeder the best turtle, Sally the fox of honor, and Lucy the Flowerilla." "Could they even get in?" Ethan asked. "Why not? Even animals deserve to be in church." I replied. "If they try to kick them out, I'll remind them that they are practically family. If that doesn't work, I'll stoop to the low level of using the Keeper of the Bullet story to my advantage." "Given the fact that there's a book on The Keeper of the Bullet; I'm sure that won't be necessary. At this point, I can't argue with your reasoning about animals having the right to be there as much as we do. We've seen some crazier things lately. I would always believe in the things that are explained through logic... But this trip has shown me that not everything is knowledgeable to the average person. There is such a thing as soulmates and destiny and magic... I would have never known all of this was possible if it wasn't for you trying to face the Walter Roosevelt imposter on your own." "I know, you thought I was projecting horror movies into my reality. That was just the beginning and even that wasn't as crazy as what happened afterwards." "The way you were angry at me... I thought we were completely done... If I hadn't agreed that we weren't meant for each other, you wouldn't have went on that date... And you wouldn't have gotten hit." "If it was my destiny, I would've gotten hit another way regardless of how we felt towards each other. He already shown that he could sneak right into the hospital. He could've shot me while I was working." "That's why I don't want to waste any more time we have together... I rather take every risk I got to be with you than not having to take them at all. Losing you is the one risk I cannot accept. I've learned that the hard way many times over."
"You won't lose me, Ethan..." I teared up, burying my head against him, and held onto him as tight as I could. "I love you. Mistakes and all." "And I love you... Stubbornness and all." I tried to fight back a laugh, "I guess these are practically our wedding vows, shall we make this official?" "Yes..." Ethan answered, lifting my head up, so he can give me a kiss before we head in.
"Just one question, how are you planning to keep this from Dr. Banerji, so you won't hear the end of it?" Ethan laughed, "He would try to tease me about it, wouldn't he?" "We've already established that you aren't great at being subtle." I laughed as well. "I'll distract myself with thoughts of animals running around the house." Ethan replied, motioning towards Sally, Lucy, and Schroeder. "That works for me." I smiled, heading into the Cathedral with him and our pets. I can't believe I'm calling them our pets! Everything was so nuts that by the end of the day, I realized I'm secretly going to be Dr. Christy Ramsey! I still don't feel like this is real, but as he held onto my hand... I knew it was.
"Bonjour, comment ça va?" The Priest asked. "Trés bien, merci. Connaissez-vous Colette? Elle a recommandé que nous puissions nous marier ici. Nous voulons simplement le faire rapidement et simplement. Aussi, je suis le gardien de la balle, donc mes animaux de compagnie sont mes compagnons." I replied. "Ah oui. Étape de cette façon, tout a été mis en place pour vous. C'est un honneur de rencontrer le gardien de la balle en personne. Ne prenez pas votre cadeau à la légère." The priest replied. "Oh, nous ne prenons pas nos responsabilités à la légère. Nous venons de survivre à la défaite héroïque d'un mauvais médecin, The Brain Shrinker, et d'un sorcier pendant notre séjour ici à la Nouvelle-Orléans. Ce n'était pas un voyage auquel nous nous attendions; c'est certain." I explained. "Je suis sûr que c'est une histoire fascinante à raconter à vos enfants. Colette m'a expliqué beaucoup de détails. La ville n'allait pas très bien au moment de la peste, mais c'était très héroïque de votre part d'utiliser votre cadeau pour sauver tout le monde." The priest told me. "Colette ne m'a pas laissé entendre la fin jusqu'à ce que je décide de prendre votre cas. Elle peut être assez persuasive. Elle dit que si je ne vous ai pas épousé tout de suite, elle aura la cathédrale entourée de crocodiles." I laughed, "We wouldn't want to have this place crawling with crocodiles. Colette is great." "So, she really had everything all set up for us. She is one devious fortune teller." Ethan said. "I'm starting to think she sent us on that Asylum case, so she can scheme this wedding." "Well, let's not look a gift teller in the mouth." I smirked.
