Being respectful and not too intruding is one of my biggest morals as an intergalactic journalist. People on earth were stingy enough answering journalists' aliens doubled it. Especially when I am not one of them.
Aliens were always cautious when talking to humans such as myself. They could easily get assaulted and must defend themselves. They also were very distrustful of us at first, they eased up slightly though.
So, when it came to interviewing aliens especially on their holidays, I am always respectful.
"You said your name was Juniper?" Juniper looked up at the male alien in front of her and nodded.
"Yes, my name is Juniper, after the juniper flower." Juniper answered with a small smile.
He nodded. Juniper had found one alien who seemed willing to talk to her. The only telltale signs he had that he isn't human were his eyes. His eyes were a glowing blue with a silver ring around the pupil. His veins were also much more prominent and glowed every now and then the same blue as his eyes.
"Depending on the race of aliens depends on why they celebrate." He said and Juniper wrote that down.
"What is your name?" Juniper asked.
"Sol." He answered giving her a small smile.
"My people celebrate this holiday because it's the one time all the barriers are weak, and our hunger isn't too much of a bother. It's one day out of an entire year we can truly be free." Sol answered and Juniper was quick to write that down before her watch beeped.
"Thank you for sharing this with me Sol, it's very much appreciated." Juniper stood up and smiled at him as Sol nodded.
"You are welcome to come back any time Juniper, you are fun to talk to." Sol smiled at her and Juniper nodded as she bid him goodbye before her ship decided to abandon her here.
While Sol was being nice to her she knew staying with him if she got abandoned wasn't smart. She saw the fangs in his mouth, he was one of the few energies feeding aliens. They operated in the same way the vampire lore from her planet did.
And like most of his species he had the good looks and charms that lured their prey in. Juniper wasn't sure if that's what he was doing, he seemed nice enough.
She'd find out later no doubt as she already knew she'd be coming back.
"Okay we have a story it's time to back." Juniper told the pilot as she sat down eyeing the window where Sol sat sipping his drink.
The ship took off as Juniper looked back at her journal where he had scribbled some numbers and an address down as she smiled and turned back happy to have gotten her story and a few other things.
457. Energy alien vampire is a thing I had from the last one. It's a species I'm working on for an upcoming alien book of mine. Basically, they are very seductive and must feed on people to sustain themselves. They can also make the feeding either very pleasurable or painful depending on their mood. I'm currently fleshing them out so here is a small snippet of what they are like. ***
