Daisy bit her lip as she looked around the house while holding a piece of candy in her hand. Her eyes settled on the people at the party. She had to be hallucinating.
The costumes looked so real. The longer the party went on the more real they got. Some of them seemed to be morphing into the things they wore. Daisy went still as a man in a werewolf costume came past her, or what was once a costume.
His nose flickered out as he looked over at her. The bright gold eyes stared into hers before he moved away. Daisy looked at the exit deciding the party is definitely over now. Her friends had convinced her to come, but she was ready to leave.
Everything around her was so realistic and she refused to become someone's meal. Daisy slowly began slipping out. She knew she had to be careful. These people weren't her friends anymore, they weren't even human.
Daisy slowly made her way over to the door. All she had to do was get outside get in her car and drive off. It was that simple. Things were getting too weird and scary around here for Daisy to desire to stay.
All she could see was everyone becoming their costumes. Daisy was thankful she didn't go with a costume and simply clothes she didn't wear often.
All she had on was a pastel pink skirt with a pastel purple shirt with little roses on it and then a pair of her boots. She looked like a pastel goth which she was fine with.
Daisy was quick to the door but before she could leave, she heard her name being called.
"Where are you going Daisy?" Luca asked as Daisy turned around to face her crush.
Daisy looked over Luca's costume based on day of the dead outfits from his heritage. He had the typical skull face paint on but much more detailed than any of the girls at the party could manage. Daisy smiled nervously at him.
He wore a suit with skulls on them as he smiled at her.
"Oh, I was going to head home, I'm not feeling too well." Daisy lied feeling nervous underneath his gaze.
She wasn't sure what his costume would turn him into since it was mostly skull make-up, but she wasn't eager to find out. Luca looked at her and smiled.
"I can walk you to your car." Luca offered not bothering to wait for an answer as he opened the door and motioned for her to go out. Daisy ducked under his arm before he shut the door and looked over at her.
"I'm assuming you see them as well?" Luca asked and Daisy paused.
"What?" Daisy asked.
"The costumes, they're becoming real." Luca pulled a make-up wipe out and began rubbing all the make-up off his face before dumping it in the trash can.
"We should get to your car before they decide to chase us." Luca said and Daisy nodded as she hurried to her car with Luca following her.
Daisy unlocked her car and got in before starting it up.
"How did it not affect you?" Daisy asked as Luca glanced at her.
"I don't know, but we should get out of here, as I think they noticed we're gone." Luca told her and Daisy nodded as she sped off her eyes shifting to where it read one o'clock.
Daisy sped off unaware of how the costume was affecting Luca he was just much better at hiding it then the rest were.
