Coral grew to despise Halloween. Ever since her best friend went missing, she hated when fall came. An entire year had passed and being at the party made her feel so lonely. Coral found herself driving out to a lake.

She parked her car before getting out and removing her costume. Underneath all the fancy lace for her costume Coral wore a pair of leggings and a tank top. She grabbed the hoodie from her car and put in on before going over to the lake.

"I miss you Tess." Coral murmured staring out at the water that shined under the full moon.

Coral leaned back on the wooden dock as she stared at the stars. "You've been gone for an entire year now." Coral murmured to herself as she laid back on the dock watching the stars and moon as the clouds moved in the sky.

Coral shook her head as she pushed herself up ready to call it a night and just go home. As she pushed herself up Coral's eyes landed on someone standing in the lake.

She rubbed her eyes believing herself to be hallucinating as her eyes landed on the auburn hair. Then she turned around and Coral's heart dropped.

"Tess?" Coral asked as the girl turned towards her. Coral stood up shaking as her eyes landed on her. She shook as she stood up feeling tears blur her eyes at the sight of the familiar face before her.

"I'm not Tess. . . but I do have a secret to show you." The girl smiled as she moved in the chilly water as Coral stared at her.

She moved her hand from the water and held it out to her. "All you have to do is come with me."  She told her and Coral didn't even hesitate to take her hand as the girl backed up into the water.

Coral's entire life was shaken and ended when Tess went missing. If there was even a hope to find her Coral would take it. Her life had never been the same since Tess disappeared. She would do anything to bring Tess back.

The water consumed Coral as her vision went black before reappearing surrounded by grass as the Tess look-alike led her to land. Coral wrung the water out of her hair as she looked over at her.

"What is the secret?" Coral asked.

Tessa look-alike turned to her and smiled. "Your friend is here, in this land, I don't know where but I'm sure you'll find her, but a word of advice don't eat the food or stray from the stone path. Things lurk in those woods that would love to end you." Tessa look-alike then backed into the water.

Coral watched her morph into a face like hers before disappearing beneath the water. Coral turned and faced the woods. She was determined to go to whatever lengths necessary to get her best friend back.

And off she went into the dangerous unknown woods right into the waiting hands of a fae king.

505. This was fun to write and I might do a story on it later with name changes in a more fleshed out plot. ***
