Maja had to be hallucinating. The boy in front of her in the zombie costume looked so real. She swore she could even smell the rot on him. His skin looked to be literally peeling off as his mother stood behind as he pushed his bucket over to Maja.
His mom was dressed as a witch with a large wart on her nose.
"Very nice costume." Maja told him as she set candy in his basket and his mom smiled.
"He doesn't talk much." She said as she grabbed his shoulders before steering him away as Maja watched him stumble out of her yard. She closed the door before peeking out the curtains.
Maja watched all the kids walk by in their realistic costumes. "What is going on?" Maja asked to herself as she saw one of the male teenagers run by in a werewolf costume that looked too real for her comfort. He was even on all fours as he ran.
"Everything alright Maja?" Maja turned around to face her boyfriend Lee who was dressed up.
He was in a vampire costume. He was very pale today more so than usual and had realistic fangs in his mouth as he smiled at her.
"Yeah, it's just these costumes look so realistic." Maja said as Lee came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her.
"I think your just tense love. Relax a little, it's good to be back home isn't it?" Lee asked smiling at her as he buried his face in her neck. Maja eased up before she felt a prick in her neck and blood slowly run down as Lee licked her neck.
Maja turned around looking into red eyes instead of green. "You okay baby?" Lee asked innocently. Maja nodded as she turned back around realizing that they weren't just realistic costumes, but real ones.
And she had one right in her house with her.
