Rafael hated sports. But growing up in a family who thrived in sports forced him to have to participate so he chose one of the easiest besides golf. Track.
Running around the track he deemed pointless. But today he found out how useful it was.
For the last few days Rafael had felt eyes on him but he could never find out what it was. Rafael did his best to ignore the feeling of being watched until today when he saw the dark figure appear behind me.
"Motherfu-" Rafael never got to finish as it roared at him and Rafael took off running. He heard it take pursuit as he ran straight into the woods. His nan's house was close by and like every other person he saw it as a false safety.
That if he got to other people, he would be safe. Rafael ran as fast as he could silently thanking that his father pressured him into sports. If he didn't take track, he'd of collapsed a long time ago.
Rafael leapt over a log and managed to keep his footing when his shoe bumped a root. All it took was one fall for everything to go downhill. His heart pounded as he continued to run.
Soon his nan's house pulled into view and he saw her tending her garden.
"Nan!" Rafael screamed and she looked up as he skidded to a stop and smiled having finally reached safety.
Nan froze.
"Nan call dad, there is something in those woods." Rafael let out and Nan froze. "Nan?" Rafael asked confused.
Hot breath blew out on him as Rafael turned around and he understood. His eyes locked on the red ones just as it flew at him.
