Philosophers stone

Neville

It was late when the trio finally snuck down the steps.
"Trevor you shouldn't be here!" Ron says to the toad. "And you shouldn't either!" I say standing up from the common room chair.

"I knew you guys were up to something! You aren't going to be breaking any more rules and I can't let you off so easy speaking to Ren the way you did Harry!" Before I could say anything else I was petrified and staring at the ceiling.
"Great, some hero I am" I thought to himself as I heard the footsteps of my mates disappear through the portrait.

Trio POV

The trio was now caught in some sort of plant. It was suffocating them. Something about this plant seemed familiar.
"And it doesn't like light!" Hermione exclaims loudly. "What!?" Both Harry and Ron ask.
"Devils snare! Remember? Serenity was going on and on about it earlier!!??!" She smiles.
"It doesn't like light!" Harry remembers out loud. "Lumos" they all yell, setting themselves free.

Serenity

It was dinner, the last dinner of our first year. Hannah was shoveling mashed potatoes into her mouth like it would be her last time eating food, I was just pushing around broccoli on my plate. I hadn't talked to the Gryffindors in a few days and was worried they were ok with that. Suddenly a book falls infront of me.

I read the title 'Herbology 1000 uses and warnings' the book I forgot in the Gryffindor common room. I look behind me to see Neville looking guilty.

"Sorry I didn't return it sooner, I couldn't stop reading it to be honest." He finally says.
"that's ok Nev." I reply with a smile.
"I already read it a few times." She looks at him hoping for eye contact.
"Are we good?" I ask.
"I'm not sure... are we?" He asks looking in my eyes now, I smile, and so does he.
"Good" I say and nod.

Neville makes his way back to the Gryffindor table where I lock eyes with Hermione, Ron, but Harry is looking down guiltily. I smile at them and they smile back. They have bruises and bandages on themselves and I think to myself that I'll have to ask Neville on the train ride home what happened. Just then Dumbledore begins talking about how the trio saved something called 'the philosophers stone' and they all earned points for Gryffindor. Everyone claps except for the Slytherin table.

"And two more students earned extra points as well." Dumbledore continues
"10 points to Neville Longbottom for standing up to his friends to keep the ones he cares about safe." Everyone cheers but I'm standing and cheering the loudest causing Nev to blush and give me a thumbs up from across the great hall.
"And lastly 50 points to Serenity Locks for her mind and her loyal heart, always leading the students of Hogwarts, in the correct direction." Dumbledore states. Everyone around me is cheering and Cedric is shaking me by my shoulders with a huge smile on his face. Everyone at the Hufflepuff table is giving me high fives and telling me congrats. For the first time in many years the Hufflepuff house isn't in last place for points and it's because of me. I couldn't be more happy.

I sit next to Neville on the train ride home, I took the time to sketch Hermione whom is sitting across from me talking to Harry and Ron. I slowly feel myself drift into a sleep as the train's movement and the voices of my mates lull me to deep slumber.

Neville

Serenity's head slowly drops onto My shoulder as she falls asleep, Harry and Hermione are arguing about 'he who must not be named' now, knowing Serenity wouldn't have wanted to hear it when she was awake. A few minutes go by when the compartment door slides open. Standing there is Draco Malfoy, first he looks concerned then he sees Serenity laying on my shoulder and that concern turns to anger.

"Enjoy it while you can Longbottom, because you know she lives with me, that means every minute of her summer is going to be spent forgetting you and bonding with me." Draco says as he leans against the doorway.
"She hasn't spoken to you almost all year Malfoy!" Ron spits
"Shuttup weasel, once my parents hear what happened this year she will have no choice but to forget about you blood traitors anyway." Draco beams with pride as he turns and leaves.

(Completely forgetting that he was looking for Serenity because he missed her and wanted to tell her he didn't want things to be awkward at home. Instead he had hopefully hurt Longbottom's feelings and caused the trio some well deserved hurt as well. Draco didn't know that when he opened the compartment door, the noise woke Serenity, and she had listened to every word. A lone tear was now sliding down her cheek and his words caused the friend group to chat about how worried they were for her, and how sad they would be if she never spoke to them again.)

Serenity

I slipped back into a sleep but was woken up by Neville before the train arrived at the station, he looked sad but I just pretended it was because we were saying goodbye for the summer and not because he thought possibly it was goodbye forever. I hugged my friends goodbye but held Neville the longest.

"I'll miss you Nev."

"miss you too Ren." He replied. And with that I waved goodbye as I exited the train with Draco, I walked with him until I saw Lucius and Narcissa.
"Oh I missed you two!!" Narcissa sang as she ran up to us and hugged us both. Lucius looked into my eyes with pure anger and disappointment. With that he turned and strode away. Not saying a word until we arrived back at the manor.
