Half blood prince

We finally all settle into our seats in the Gryffindor common room. Dinner isn't over so we have the whole room to ourselves. Serenity is practically bouncing up and down infront of us and we are all just staring and waiting for her to speak.
"Well?" I finally say to her.
"Okay okay sorry!" She says and she pulls a textbook out of her bag.

"No! She cornered us to study!" Ron complains
"I have not Ron! This is a year one textbook anyway." She yells. She holds up the front of it and beams. I'm obviously the only one to understand what is going on and I completely lose it.
"NO!! NO WAY!! HOW!?!" I yell as I run up to her and grab the book from her hands.
"Sprout! It was your doing!" Serenity says smiling at me.
"She gave it to a publisher!" She cheers.
I throw the book down and lift her into a hug, we are both beaming with pride.

"Uhm? Is anyone going to tell us what's going on?" Harry asks.
"I thought I was the only one who was lost." Ron says.
Hermione picks up the textbook and reads it aloud.
"A students guide to magical plants and herbs." She starts. "Written by..... NEVILLE LONGBOTTOM AND ART BY SERENITY LOCKS?" She yells.
Serenity and I both nod at her.
"When did? How did? You guys are published?" Hermione asks.
"What the bloody hell is going on? I still don't understand!" Ron exclaims.
"Ron! Serenity and Neville wrote a book, and it's an official published textbook!" Hermione says proudly as she flips through the pages.
"That's right! And it's going to be the new year one Herbology textbook required by all wizard information schools next year!" Serenity beams.
"Are you serious?" I ask.
"I'm serious." She says before kissing me.

That night we had a small celebration. Mostly just the 5 of us eating sweets and enjoying each others company. It was nice to feel this happy. I had been suffering for so long at the mansion, attending death eaters meetings, and planning the task with Draco. It was nice to feel this normal for once. It was midnight and the trio had all made their way to their dorms but Neville and I were wide awake still talking like the morning would never come.

"So you said this is our first book?" Neville asks.
"Yeah, I figure there will be more, we have 6 more years of textbooks to write." I joke. "But no really, I'd like nothing more than to travel the world with you. You will research and write about magical plants and I will draw and paint them. That's what I want after we graduate." I say.
"And what about after that?" He asks.
"Well I'm not sure. Maybe you will be the Hogwarts Herbology professor, and I can focus on my art." I ponder outloud.
"Me? A professor? You think I could do that?" Neville asks.
"Well yeah, by the way Sprout is going to ask you to become her aid next year, I think you should say yes." I say.
"Hmm I never thought about that possibility." Neville exclaims.
"What? Sprout talking to you?" I joke.
"Hah no being a professor." He laughs.
"I think you'd make a damn good one." I say, looking into his eyes.
"I'll think about it." He starts. "First we have to take our trip around the world." Neville says looking at me with passion in his eyes.
"Then we get married." He finally admits.
"We what?" I laugh.

"Get married Ren! we can travel the world, after that we'd know the best most beautiful place to have our wedding, I'll propose at that spot. Then we will go back a year later. After our second book is published of course. Then I'll marry you. I'll apply for Herbology professor, I'll get it of course. Then you will live with me here until...." he pauses
"Until what?" I ask
"Until we need a bigger place. We'll buy a house, so we can fill it with children. Then you'll teach them art and I'll teach them Herbology." Neville says.
He looks at me with a big goofy smile plastered on his face.
"Ok my love." I say. I get up and pace around the room a little. Looking chewing my nails nervously.
"What's wrong?" He asks, standing up and following me with his eyes.
"I hope that I have a future to give you." I finally say.
