Deathly Hallows

Days turn into weeks of sneaking, hiding, communicating. The D.A. Headquarters has turned more into a hideout for students more than anything. There wasn't much we could do other than that. Seamus and Luna kept the pranking up, they were quick and very good at it. I kept calling them the new Weasleys.

Neville and I had been using out Patronus' to get information in and out of the room of requirement whenever needed. Ever since the muggle studies class incident Neville had become increasingly defiant to the Carrow siblings. He would come back to the room of requirement and the common room with new bruises and cuts everyday.

"Augusta owled me." I say. Neville looks up at me. I'm wrapping his cuts for the 10th time this week.
"What did she say? Don't tell me, she wants you to go back for holiday?" He replies shaking his head.
"Yeah." I put simply.
"Serenity you know how dangerous that is, it makes you a target. I know my Gran, she isn't looking to spend a happy Christmas just the two of you. She has order business to give you." He grumbles.

I finish wrapping his arm. The Carrows gave strict orders to Madam Pomfrey not to heal Neville or anyone he associated with. They were growing increasingly suspicious of me but they still didn't have any evidence against me, thankfully.

"Neville I have to go, if there is something I need to know or do, I have to find out." I say. He gently grabs my hand and rubs it with his thumb.
"Asphodel." He says.
"What dear?" I ask.
"Asphodel, ingredient in Draught of living death. It's a beautiful flower, cousin of the Lily. It can also heal. Did you know that?" He continues.
"agápi péra apó ton táfo" I say. "Love beyond the grave."

"Remember when I said we'd travel?" He asks.
"Yes of course Nev, we'd travel and write our second book." I reply.
"We need to stay alive for that." He says.

I bend down and kiss his lips. Lingering longer than usual.
"I know Neville. I'm not planning on dying, are you?" I ask.
"No." He replies.
"Good. Then we are in agreement." I say. I walk away and start cleaning up the medical supplies.

"I'm sorry did we just have the same conversation?" Neville asks.
"Yes, you agreed to let me go to Gran's place for the holidays like she requested." I reply with a smile.
"I don't remember saying that Ren." Neville groans.
I continue placing wrapping away into a box. Neville comes up behind me, placing his hand on mine to stop me from nervously working.

"Serenity."
My hand is slightly shaking. I didn't notice it until now. I turn around to meet his gaze. I force a smile.
"Everything is going to be fine I promise, plus Luna is riding on the train with me." I reply.
"Serenity!" Seamus yells from the other side of the room. I look back at Neville.
"I'm going to be fine Nev, you stay safe too ok?" I say to him before walking towards Seamus.

"Serenity we nabbed those pies you like so much!" Luna coos.
"Good, give them to the first years we brought in last week! They have been dying for something sweet." I reply.
"But you don't want any?" Seamus asks.
"Luna and I have a train to catch." I reply.

"Nigel make sure Neville doesn't have too much fun without me." I wink at the boy.
"Oh don't worry Serenity! I'm super strong this year!" The little Gryffindor boy yells.
"Oh I've noticed little lion!" I say as I mess up his hair.
"My mane!" He chuckles.

I walk through the room of requirement. Students fill the hammocks and line the walls. Chatting, studying, living. All that matter is they are safe. Alive. I wish they could be playing wizards chess, or practicing quidditch. Instead they are here thankful they are safe.

....

The train ride feels off. There are almost no students on the train.
"Serenity, it's them again." I hear Luna say. I look around to see the train is slowing down like it had when we arrived at Hogwarts. I knew they weren't looking for Potter this time.

"Luna hide in the loo." I order.
"Wait but Serenity they-"
"Do what I say Luna!" I yell. She quickly shuts herself into the restroom.

The doors to the train fly open.
"Hello Yaxley, come to wish me happy holidays?" I chuckle.
"Oh Locks! Here you are without your little husband to step in. As much as I would love to chat I'm here on business." He replies. He snaps his fingers and Hubar enters the train. He begins ripping students from their seats and searching compartments without a care for anyone's wellbeing.

"Ever heard of the newspaper called the Quibler?" Yaxley asks me.
"Haven't gotten a chance to read it." I reply.
Yaxley takes a few more steps towards me.
"Well, it's run by Mr. Lovegood. And he hasn't been writing the most tasteful things lately." He continues.
"Ahw Yaxley, I didn't know your lack of a love life was that distasteful." I say smugly.

Yaxley grabs my face and glares into my eyes.
"Where is she Serenity? I know you were traveling together." He spits.

I watch as Hubar continues to tear the train apart.
"Ah, yes, Hubar here is taking orders from Lucius now. Isn't he so much more fun now?" Yaxley coos.
"Hubar would never take orders from that man." I reply. Yaxley looks back into my eyes.
"So the Dark lord was correct, you aren't on our side after all. Hubar! Come here." Yaxley yells.

Hubar makes his way over. I attempt to connect my thoughts with his but he isn't there.

"Hubar please hear me."
"Hubar this isn't you is it?"
"Cmon Hubs."

I keep trying but nothing. Then a smile creeps on his face. For a second I think he is back to his normal self but he just pushes through Yaxley and me.
"Shit." I say softly.
"She's in the bathroom." Hubar says. Yaxley smiles and let's go of my face and they make there way over to the door Luna had went through. I watch as they pull her out by her hair.

"I'm sorry." I say to her.
"It's ok." She says. And with that they apparate away.

I let Hubar into my mind. I led them straight to her.
