A Meeting

Deathly hallows

I sat at a small wizard pub in London. It was fairly empty, thank goodness. This way we can sit near the back and no one would hear us.
"Neville there you are!" I head Seamus call out. I wave my friend over and he calls to others outside.
"Guys Cmon he's already here!" Seamus yells.
I face palm, Seamus is going to have to start using his inside voice. I have yet to hear the boy whisper. It may have been a mistake inviting him.

Dean, Seamus, and Luna make their way over to the table. Luna pulls me into a tight hug.
"Oh our little tall Neville darling we missed you!" She coos petting my head like a cat.
"Uhm, nice to see you too?" I say.
"Where is Serenity? You guys are always together." Dean asks. I lean forward and start talking in a hushed voice.
"She had to return to the Malfoys, secret business." I whisper.
"Damn badass!" Seamus yells. I face palm again.

"So, Nevs, what's the plan for next year?" Dean asks.

After about an hour of discussing plans for the new DA this upcoming school year we have about exhausted all scenarios and plans. I fiddle with my fingers nervously.
"Neville what's wrong?" Luna asks.
"Uhm I wanted to tell you guys something, but you can't tell anyone ok?" I reply.
"Neville I'll be quiet as a mouse!" Seamus yells.
"Can you be right now?" Dean says to Seamus.
Seamus punches Dean's arm.

I clear my throat. "Iaskedserenitytomarrymeandshesaidyes." I say really fast. Luna bounces up and down excited.
"Oh Neville how exciting!!! Good for you! I hope those Nargles don't steal her ring, I'll be very upset if that were to happen." Luna exclaims.
"Wait? What?" Seamus asks.
"Yeah I didn't here you Nevs." Dean replies.
Luna turns towards the boys surprised.
"You didn't hear him just now? He said him and Serenity are engaged!" Luna explains.

Dean and Seamus look at each other and then to me and start patting my back and messing up my hair playfully.
"Damn Longbottom!! You sly dog!" They exclaim.
"Thanks guys" I say while trying to fix my hair. "It probably won't happen till after the war but I'm happy it happened. So Uhm, you guys wanna be my groomsmen?" I ask.
"Oh thank Merlin! I thought you'd never ask!" Seamus yells. "I'm gonna plan the best bachelor party!!"
"Oh no." I sigh.

I exhale slowly. Shifting my weight. I've never gotten used to the smell of st. Mungos, it always gives me anxiety. The last few times I've visited Serenity had been there to hold my hand. Today being the anniversary of them being checked in, I was far more nervous. Dean and Seamus had offered to accompany me but I refused. I enter the hospital warily.

"Neville welcome back." The nice secretary calls out.
"Hello miss." I reply.
"Your girlfriend is here already, did you not come together?" I abruptly stop and turn towards her.
"Wait Serenity is here?" I ask. She looks at me confused.
"Yes she got here about 10 minutes ago, with another boy, looked a little older than you two though." She replies. She goes back to her paperwork and I turn to continue to the ward.

When I round the hall to my parents room I see a young man standing outside of their room. He does look a little older than me like the woman had said, but why was he here was the question.

"Excuse me I need to enter that room." I say.
"I'm sorry, and you are?" He groans. I know he means to intimidate me but I meet his height perfectly and if Serenity was in that room, nothing was going to stop me from getting to her.
"That's my parent's room, now let me in." I say angry. My fists clenched at my sides.
"Hmm make me." He says with a smirk.

"Nev?" I hear a voice come from inside the room. the door opens wide and Serenity smiles at me.
"Neville it is you! I hoped I'd catch you today!" She says jumping in my arms. I hear the boy scoff and walk away, but I don't pay any mind to it. I kiss her face a million times, each time I lift away I say.
"I missed you, I love you, I missed you!"
"Awe darling I missed you too but it was only 3 days, oh who am I kidding, it felt like forever!" She exclaims. She grabs my hand and drags me into my parents room.

"I showed them the ring and they stared longer than they normally do, your mother even held my hand for a little bit! Isn't that great Nev!" She exclaimed. All my anxiety and worries withered away seeing her so happy. I never imagined bringing my future wife into this room and her being filled with so much joy and happiness. But here she was being happy my mom touched her hand. Serenity was the best person on this earth.

We spent another 45 minutes talking to my parents and to each other, then a knock at the door came.

"Miss Locks, we should really get back. The Malfoys will wonder where you were if they get back before you." The boy says with worry in his voice. He locks eyes with me and I feel a slight tinge of anger.
"Oh Hubs Cmon, Draco said I could take my time!" Serenity replies. I can't help but notice they seem close.
"Miss locks. Draco is daft, you can't listen to his nonsense. That git knows nothing." He replies.

"I'm sorry who are you?" I ask.
"Oh shoot how rude of me, this is Hubar! He is a nasty grumpy death eater meant to protect the Malfoys. But he put his job of being a grumpy jerk on pause to let me come here today!" Serenity jokes. Hubar rolls his eyes at this.
"I only came here because Draco forced me too, don't push your luck brat!" He yells before slamming the door.

"What a ray of sunshine." Serenity says with a smile, shrugging off the interaction like it was nothing.
"Serenity, please be careful ok?" I say. I hug and kiss her one last time.
"You should go back, I don't want you to get in trouble." I say.
"Ok love. I'll see you at the wedding though ok?" She says holding me tightly.
"Of course." I reply.
