Shai PoV

"10, 9, 8, 7, 6...!" everyone shout.

Theo wraps his arm around my waist, he seems nervous about something, but I have no idea why.

We are all crowded together in front of the TV to see the countdown.

Ansel, Miles, Zoë and Jai are all drunk. Theo has had around three beers and a few glasses of wine, but it doesn't seem to affect him in any way.

Heather, Jai's girlfriend, and I are almost sober, I've been talking with her for a few hours. She is a lot like me, health freak and not a big fan of alcohol.

While the other guys danced Just Dance, which was quite funny since they're drunk, she and I did the dishes together. That's when we fell in talk.

Her and Jai has been together for almost two years, they live together in Los Angeles and have a dog.

"3!" Theo's arm tightens around my waist and I lean closer to him.

"2!" Miles and Ansel jump up and down.

"1!" we all scream and cheers.

Theo turns me around, place his beer on the coffee table. He pulls me into a lingering kiss. I wrap my arms around his neck and his hands squeeze my waist. I stand on my tip toes to get closer to him and my tongue slips into his mouth.

It's only when Miles whistles, we pull back and lean our foreheads against each other.

"Happy New Year, Shai," Theo says.

I press my lips to his for a few more seconds, "happy New Year, Theo."

After the fireworks, Ansel starts the music, forcing us all to go to the dance floor.

I dance around with Zoë, I'm also beginning to get a little tipsy but I can still think clear.

Theo has been gone for a long time, I start to get worried, and walk towards the bathroom to see if he is sick or something, when a hand grabs my wrist.

I turn around and see Miles smirking at me, "stay here, Shai. Theo will be back in a second."

"But where is he?" I ask worried and look around.

Theo would never go anywhere without telling me first.

"Just--" Miles starts, but then Theo enters the living room.

He walks to me with a smile and takes both my hands in his. Miles lays a hand on Theo's shoulder, smirks at him and then walk away.

In the same second, Ansel plays This I Promise You by N'sync.

Something is going on, I can tell it by the smirk on Miles and Ansel's faces, and the look in Theo's eyes.

I smile at the last sentence, and I swear, if it hadn't been for the situation, Ansel would've said something.
