Happy Birthday, dear

ninth week

Ava woke up, but didn't open her eyes, knowing that if she did, she would be sick. After a couple of minutes of standing still, she slowly sat up on the bed, still squinting. As soon as her eyelids fluttered, Ava looked around the bedroom in confusion. The whole room was covered with balloons, so firmly resting on the ceiling.

"Connor" was all Ava whispered, even though the man wasn't in the bedroom.

When she got out of bed, she went to look for it, meeting a large number of balloons and bright holiday decorations along the way. Nausea faded into the background, replaced by happy surprise. When Ava went down to the living room, she didn't think to look in the direction of Connor, who immediately took her in his arms.

"Happy Birthday, my beautiful girl" Connor smiled, kissing her temple, then reluctantly releasing her to hand her a large bouquet of roses.

"Oh, Connor" Ava said sheepishly, not expecting such attention this morning. When she picked up the flowers, it was as if she herself had bloomed, smiling too widely.

"How are you?" he asked excitedly, remembering how hard Ava had woken up, putting his arms around Her again, kissing her hair, burying his face in it.

"Well, your surprise pleased both me and the baby, since he didn't give me a hell of a morning" Ava laughed, pressing her lips to the man she loved, involuntarily squeezing the bouquet between them.

"I thought for a long time that you would be happy, considering that you are not a fan of expensive things" Connor chuckled, going to the large Windows to close them with thick curtains, creating pitch darkness despite the light time of day.

"What are you doing?" after placing the flowers in the vase, Ava froze in place, trying to figure out what her husband was up to. Even her quick wits couldn't come up with any good options for what he had prepared.

"Do you remember when you said that you liked to look at the sky, at the stars, that they calmed you down during difficult times when you were in Cape town, and allowed you to move on?" turning to Ava, Connor reminded her.

Of course Ava remembered that. She was also touched that Connor hadn't forgotten her little story from the past. It was too pleasant. She only nodded weakly in response, afraid that her voice would falter if she tried to speak.

"Close your eyes, Avey" Connor said softly, coming close to her, placing his hands on her face. "Don't peek".

With another nod of agreement, Ava bit her lip as she felt Connor move away from her with a rustle. Curiosity made her want to open her eyes, but Connor's request was more important and stronger than her whim, so she obediently stood there, not moving or peeking.

"Open" suddenly, Connor was at her side again, his arm around her from behind.

Licking her dry lips, Ava looked ahead excitedly, immediately gasping, pressing her hand to her mouth.

"Connor, this... This is, my God, how beautiful it is" Ava said in one breath, seeing the entire ceiling and walls of the living room turn into a real starry sky, so dark and bright at the same time. Stars were everywhere, and some seemed to fall on the sofa, creating an incredible picture, really plunging into the night.

"There aren't many cloudless nights in Chicago, and I thought a projection of the starry sky would be a good idea".

Stretching his arm forward, the Ava submitted that touched the stars, standing on tiptoe. Pausing in the center of the room, she lifted her head up, taking in all the beauty.

Connor stood off to the side, shifting uncomfortably from one foot to the other as Ava caught the stars, managing to fall onto the couch several times.

"Come here" she called, falling back on the sofa, laughing.

When Connor reached his little girl, he barely had time to put his hands on either side of her as she pulled him toward her. When their eyes met, Ava was the first to press her lips to Connor's, kissing him passionately, wrapping her arms around his neck, also touching his waist, but with her legs, completely touching him. Before they could catch their breath, the two of them kissed as they had the first time: wildly and greedily. Right under the starry sky.

"Connor, this is the best gift I could ever ask for" Ava gasped, still close to his lips, beaming with happiness. Connor was ready to surprise her every day to see this beautiful sun with such a big smile on his face. How he loved her.

"Avey, I'm also inviting you to lunch at the restaurant, the table is already booked" Connor smiled, not taking his loving gaze off her.

"Connor, all I want right now is you" she said softly, biting her lower lip, still holding tight to him, knowing that Connor would definitely give up.

It was only after sending a quick message to a friend at the restaurant to have their reservation moved to the evening that Connor leaned over Ava again, kissing her.

"I'll be very gentle" Connor assured, completely lost in ava, hearing only her ragged breathing. And the starry sky added to the atmosphere as they gave love to each other.
