for nothing at all

PoV Lloyd
The news hit me like a brick.

My friends and I had to separate during a mission.

Nya and Kai went together with Zane.

But we failed. We failed our mission.

Jay, Cole and I made it out in time when they caught us.

Zane joined us on the ship an hour later with a badly injured Nya.

And then there were his bad news.

Kai stayed behind to stop their pursuers, so Zane could save Nya.

And now they had Kai.

We had to get him back.

PoV Kai
When I woke up I was in a dark room.

Where was my sister? Was she save?

"Ah, you're awake", a voice said.

All of a sudden blinding lights turned on. I tried to shield my eyes but I only now realized that I was tied to a chair.

"Who's there?", I called, blinking.

"Doesn't matter", the voice laughed.

Then a figure stepped into the light. I didn't recognize the man.

He had long black hair, a short beard and piercing blue eyes.

His form was big and bulky, his steps heavy and loud.

He was wearing a beautiful gown with yellow and orange ornaments on a black base.

I took a deep breath, then asked:"and you are?"

"Your worst nightmare", he said that with a dark voice, threatening and scary, but I wouldn't show fear.

"Wow, cliche. Now would you be so kind and let me go?", I smiled a little.

He laughed loud and I swear, everything in the room shook.

"In your dreams, Ninja! First I need some information", he pulled out a beautiful knife.

Then he put it to my cheek.

"Now, what's the green Ninja's weakness?", he asked, pressing the knife down a little and creating a small cut.

I gulped, then replied in my best cocky manner:"As if I'd tell you! The only thing you'll get out of me is my blood because I'll rather bleed for my team then give you information!"

The man's gaze grew cold.

"Then bleed"

PoV Lloyd
It had been days until we finally got close to getting him back.

Cole was the one who spotted Kai in a dark room, tied to a chair, covered in cuts and blood.

His clothes were torn and his hair a mess.

He was unconscious and wouldn't wake up when Jay slapped him.

After we had reached the ship we brought him to the hospital where they told us he probably wouldn't make it.

But he had to!

I sat next to his bed and held his hand.

Suddenly I spoke up:"This is my fault. It was my plan and my idea to split up. If he dies you are all allowed to hate me"

I looked at Kai's pale hand, the slender fingers that were lying in my own.

"Don't you ever say that again Lloyd Garmadon. It's not your fault and nobody is gonna hate you. Not even Kai", Cole said clearly.

I pressed Kai's hand lightly.

"I need to know why this happened and why he's in such a bad shape. I just feel like it's because of me, it always is", I sighed.

Cole shook his head.

We left the hospital some hours later, but instead of walking home to the Dojo I asked my friends to leave me alone for a bit. Said I was going for a walk.

So now I was walking through the streets of the City.

"Hey there!", someone suddenly called. I turned around and saw a big, bulky man with piercing blue eyes, long black hair and a short beard.

Suddenly he put an arm around my shoulder.

"Isn't it funny! How you wonder what happened to Kai and I can give you the answer if you come with me?", he laughed.

I pushed his arm away and started walking again.

"Don't you want to know why your friend was put into so much pain?", the man asked, catching up to me.

"Leave me alone, this isn't funny.", I growled.

"It's not ment to be greenie! But if you don't want to know I guess I'll just be the one leaving",  he called.

I stopped walking, took a deep breath and turned to him.

"What do you know? And why?", I asked coldly.

"Oh, I know every cruel detail, because I did this to him! He was so helpless", the man laughed.

Then he mentioned for me to follow him, which I did. (Because you really are that stupid, Lloyd?)

I just needed to know what happened to my best friend.

We entered an empty building, that looked as lost as I felt right now. So cold and dark.

Just like my vision. Wait, WHAT?!

"Sir?", I called, before I sank to my knees.

"As they say, curiosity killed the ninja", the man laughed.

That's not what they say...

PoV Kai
I opened my eyes slowly. My whole body was aching.

Someone was holding my hand. Was it Lloyd? Nya? I turned my head. Cole.

I was in a dark, cold room. I only now realized how cold I was.

"Where am I?", I choked out, then started coughing. 

"In the basement of the new palast, also known as the dungeon", Cole answered when I had stopped coughing.

I blinked.

"The enemy won. I'm sorry Kai", Nya sighed.

I tried to sit up, but pain shot through my body.

"How? Why?", I asked, rubbing my head.

"Lloyd kinda got himself captured", Jay sighed.

I looked at myself.

I chuckled.

"Of course he did, because why wouldn't he?", I laughed softly.

"Okay, did you lose your mind? That's not funny!", Cole growled.

"Yeah, but it would be if it wasn't so sad!", I sighed.

So I went through all of this. For nothing at all. This was it. We lost.

I slept in again.
