*Baby Is Six Months Old*

"Heya Evie." I grin and pick her small body up. She gurgles, blinking her big blue eyes at me. "Morning baby." I whisper to her.
"Well, good morning." Lili laughs.
"Oh hey, Lil." I smile.
"Mason, she's six months old now, what's it gonna be like when she hears other kids say daddy? Justin deserves to know. He's been leaving messages on my phone for at least three months!" She exclaims, maybe, just maybe she's right. I feel like such a bitch and I miss him, so much, I just don't like to admit it. He'd be happy to know about Evie.
"Give me your phone then." I sigh and hold my hand out.

I kiss Lindsey on the lips and pull away as my phone rings. She's been my girlfriend for 2 months now, but it don't feel anything with her like I did with Mason. I look at the caller ID, why is Lili calling me?
"Lili?" I ask. "What's wrong? Is Mason okay?"
"Actually, Justin. It is Mason...."
Mason. Mason. Mason. Mason. Mason.
It echoes in my head. Why is she calling me? I just can't believe it. She's actually getting in contact with me, it seems so unreal.
"Wow, hi, Mas." I stutter, not believing the words I am saying.
"Lili was nagging at me, and I thought I should tell you I had a girl."
"She told me that much. That's all." I sigh. Lindsey raises her eyebrow.
"Her name is Evie Carter Hills, she's now six months old."
Evie Carter Hills. She kept my last name and called her Evie! Mason did think about me, I know it.
"She sounds perfect, Mas. Where have you been staying though? If you don't mind me asking." Uneasily, I dare to ask. She sighs, as if contemplating telling me.
"I've been staying close, Panama City."
"You've been this close all this time? I've played Panama City in that amount of time!" I raise my voice a little.
"Don't get pissed with me. L-look, Lili will kill me if I don't ask you, but, can I come and see you? And me bring Evie with me?"
"Sure, I'm free tomorrow, assuming you still remember me?"
"Don't push it Hills, I don't miss your sass." She says. "Fine tomorrow."
The line goes dead.
Mason actually called me. She wants to meet me. She wants me to meet my daughter!
"What is it?" Lindsey asks.
"I'm going to see my daughter, Linds!" I exclaim, getting excited. "Evie Carter Hills." I sigh. It's the perfect name. Lindsey is just silent. "Aren't you happy for me?"
"Of course, I'm here for moral support." She smiles weakly.
"Why don't you drop round tomorrow then?" I suggest. Linds nods, then looks towards the TV, becoming distant.
Is it bad that I can remember every exact detail of Mason? She has dimples on the bottom of her back, her eyes would sparkle if she was passionate about something, she'd throw her head back when she was laughing, her nose would crinkle too.
Oh, Mason.
It's all my fault.

"Don't make me regret this, Lili." I scold and toss her back her phone. She laughs.
"Why would I? You'll fall madly in love again and become even closer now you have this little cutie!" She tickles Evie under the chin.
"Hardly, Lili." I roll my eyes. "He's probably moved on and wants to only see Evie. I, on the other hand, am a single mother who lives with her best friend."
"Who is a boss ass bitch." Lili adds.
"There's that too, but it doesn't count for much." I sigh.
Looks like I'll be going back to the same house I left all those months ago, but this time with our daughter in my arms.
