I close the front door behind me and smile to myself, pressing my back against it.
"Nice time?" Mom asks as I walk into the kitchen. She looks up from her laptop, waiting for a response.
"It was amazing mom. He took me to that place we went to with dad, on the beach front."
"Oh darling, that place is expensive." Hastily, she closes the laptop and goes to make us a drink. "Tea?" I nod.
"I. Know. I told him, but he insisted." I laugh, taking my jacket off and hanging it on the back of a chair.
"Finally." She smiles.
"Uhm, what?" I ask, she shakes her head.
"You deserve a good relationship, Mas, you're 19 and you need to live a little." She hands me the steaming cup.
I guess I do need to live a little. "Ma, he's in a band, there's groupies and I'm sure there's too much temptation." Shaking her head, she sits down opposite me. "I'm broken, it's simple."
"Mason, don't be so silly, you're not broken. You just need a bit of fixing. I can see the way he looks at you, and it's only early days. Your father would be so proud of you. He'd be proud because you're talented and beautiful, sure he may have been protective, that's only because you were his little angel." I drink the tea, slowly taking in what she's saying.
"Ma, you just shut yourself off when he died. He wouldn't have wanted that, you know?"
"But I'm okay now, it's me, you and Hayden. Tell you where your father would be? In there." She points to my heart. "He loves you."
"I love him too, wake me up at 9 tomorrow? Night Ma." I hug her and run upstairs.

*Flashback In Dream*

"Hayden, Mason! Come downstairs please!" Dad calls, he's been home from fighting for two months now, he's going back soon. Hayden and I drop our action figures and race downstairs.
"Yes, Daddy, hello Mommy." Hayden says. I smile and we sit on the floor in front of our parents. Dad takes moms hand and kisses it.
"We have something to tell you." Mom beams.
"Kids, your mother is having a baby." Dad smiles. Hayden grins, but me. I don't know.
"What?!" I yell. "For thirteen years, it's just been us, and then Hayden comes along and I love him to pieces but now you're having another kid?! That's insane! Are you not happy with us?"
"Honey, calm down." My dad smiles gently.
"No! I will not calm down! I can't believe you, dad you're off fighting! How is mom gonna look after 3 kids?! That's just selfish!" I yell. Mom breaks down in tears. I storm up the stairs and slam my bedroom door. That's just selfish.

I don't think I had any sleep anyway, I was thinking about Justin and when I did fall asleep, that memory came back to haunt me. When Mom comes in, I'm already awake.
The butterflies keep repeating themselves and it's left me with an unexplainable, enigmatic feeling. It's good though.
I get dressed, brush my teeth and move onto my hair, pulling it into a messy pony tail at the back of my head.
"Looking good." Mom smiles from my doorway.
"Uhm, thanks." I blush. "I'm going out with Justin again, for a walk on the beach."
"I didn't ask, I knew you were gonna be with him anyway." I blush again and slip into my sandals.
"He's gonna pick me up.. Around now." I smile, grab my phone and run downstairs to get the door. I rush off to avoid the memories of that time. The bell rings and Hayden goes to get it. "Don't. You-" Too late. Ughh.
"Hi, Is Mason ready?" Justin asks.
"You're that boy again."
"Hayden, leave him alone." I growl. "Hey Justin."
"Hey Mason, you look great again. I don't think you could look bad." A blush creeps onto my cheeks and I shut the door behind me. "I thought we could just walk today."
"I'm fine with that." I smile. "I have school tomorrow. Ughh." I groan.
"I forgot you go to school, loser." He smirks. "I guess we'll just have to do something after you finish." I nod and we walk past the gates of my school.
"There's my hell." I laugh. He shakes his head.
"School is good kid, you only realise it after you leave. It took me forever to find what I wanted to do." He shrugs.
"Poor Rockstar." I taunt.
"Hey!" He slaps my arm playfully.
My mind drifts off to my dream. It was all my fault. I acted like a little brat that wanted all the attention. I should've been happy.
"Mason, are you okay?" Justin asks, stopping his tracks to look at me. I snap out of my trance and nod.
"I'm okay."
