(28) Basically blood

It's been about a month since me and Kat got engaged. Our wedding wasn't for another two months since we wanted a spring wedding but towards the end when the cherry blossoms are falling. I didn't have work today so I decided to make dinner for the both of us since Kat would be home soon. I was cutting up some vegetables when my phone rang.

I checked the contact and was a bit suprised to see 'Eze' but I rememberd Kat left his phone at home quite a lot and would call me to drop it off using Eze's phone.  I set down the knife and wiped my hands on my apron before picking up.

"Hey"
"Hi Ejira"
"Oh Eze what's up did Kat forget his phone again?"
"I'm no it's not that" he sounded Hesitant.
"Oh so what's up?" I leaned on the counter tilting my head back and resting it against one of the cabinets.
"Well.......I need you to come to the hospital it's Katsuki"
I felt my heart drop at those words. I quickly pushed myself off thowing the aporn off and rushing to the door.

"What happened? What hospital? Is he ok?" I kept asking more and more.

"City central hospital just get here I still need to make more calls but he's fine" the he hung up I got into my car calling Mina and putting it on speaker. I needed someone to keep me calm or I'd probably end up at the police station or also in hospital.

"Hey Kiri what up?"
Kat- city- Hospital- " I kept mumbling as I began to drive.
"Woah calm down deep breaths....... Now speak.
"Kat is in the hospital I don't know what happened his partner called me and told me I'm on my way" I said trying to calm down

"Ok what hospital?"
"City cental"
"Ok I'll see you there and don't say I don't have to because I know you need emotional support"
"No I'm fine really" I lied.
"Babes a therapist literally said your both emotionaly and metaly unstable" she sighed I could hear a door close.
"Wow didn't have to come at me like that" I sad sarcastically.
"Ok so I'm gonna stay on the phone with you in case I need to bail you out for overspending or something or visit you at the hospital because you got into an accident" I could practically hear her smile.

I rushed into the hospital. Eze was sitting on a chair at the corner of the waiting room. I quicky run up to him. "Is he ok? Can I see him?" I asked looking down. "He's...ummm we'll he's in surgery right now" it was barely above a whisper. But I heard it those words echoed in my head. He's in surgery I wasn't a surgeon but about 20% of people didn't make it out alive.

Suddenly everything was silent all I could hear was ringing and my own heart beat. My eyes became blurred and tears rolled down my cheeks. I hadn't had a panick attack this bad since my family died. I was shaking uncontrollably. I flinched when a pair of arms made thier way around me rubbing circles on my back like Kat did. I slowly began to calm down. I could hear everything.

"Hey Ei babes I'm here", "calm down" "it's ok" I blinked out the tears and saw farmiliar bubble gum pink hair. "M-mina" I said between sobs. "Yea I'm here it's ok he'll be fine" she wipered.

"I-i don't want to lose him Mina I l-love him." I sobbed harder. "Hey it's ok you won't lose him he'll be fine and he loves you too" to most people this would calm them down but it didn't help that I was a doctor and I knew the possibility of him dying wasn't zero. Also I have a deep fear of loosing people. According to psychologists everyone had that fear it's just more Extreme for me.

After a calmed done I thanked her as we sat. "What happened?" I asked Eze who was silent the whole time. "We we're on patrol when there was a bank robbery...we went to the scene with a few other cops and we're able to arrest most of them. When Katsuki noticed one who was hidden and he was aming a gun at a little girl and her mother. So he stepped infront of them shelding them but he got shot in his chest but not too close to his heart luckyly but it went pretty deep so he had to get surgery to for them to remove it."
