'Its Dead Fancy In Here And I'm Literally In Sweats'

Part 1/2 of The Millennium Biltmore Hotel

Today is finally the day we go to our first investigation. Colby drives us to the location "ok Talia are you ready?" Sam asks turning around to face me Jake and Corey who are crammed into the back of Colby's Toyota Corolla. I look out of the window and see a massive hotel appear
"Oh my..." I can't even finish my sentence. We're at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel which is huge! Colby chuckles to himself at my reaction. He parks up and we head inside which looks so beautiful, the details in everything is just breathtaking
"It's dead fancy in here and I'm literally in sweats" I laugh looking down at my sweat pants and trainers
"It's well over a hundred years old" Sam says as we all just take in the design and details of this place.

We walk down the hall and immediately the boys freak out by some decoration moving
"Dude look" Corey points
"It's probably just wind" I say smiling
"I hope so Talia" Corey says
"What did I say about being open minded?"
"I know I'm sorry, but it's probably true. Just wind" we continue to walk over to the object
"Bro theres no fucking wind" Corey and Colby say simultaneously
"Maybe it's because it's light and on a string so even though we can't feel the wind it could actually be there in like a breeze" I shrug
"Did you actually just hear yourself? If there was any wind even a small breeze we would feel it on our hands and face" Sam says pointing the camera at me
"But maybe the breeze is up there" I point to the ceiling
"It's stopped" Corey freaks out 
"Ok so maybe someone knocked it earlier and it was just swinging from that and now it's stopped"
"That's weird though don't you think? Like it's just stopped suddenly"
"I dunno. If you guys are going to convince me that the paranormal is real I need more proof than a swinging decoration"

We go to the desk to check in and the lady asks if we're afraid of ghosts
"No" Colby says
"This one doesn't believe in them" Corey points to me
"Well Miss, you'll believe after tonight"
"We'll see" we find out this is the last place The Black Dahlia was seen. The lady proceeds to tells us a few ghost stories before we make our way to our room.

As we're walking in a hallway Jake stops
"You know what this reminds me of? Have you ever seen the shining?"
"Jake don't say that I'll have nightmares" I say thinking about the film Colby forced me to watch the other night
"I love how you are scared of horrors but you don't actually believe in ghosts"
"Shut up Jake" I playfully nudge him and continue walking down the hallway following Sam
"Babe imagine the kid on the bike right now"
"No I don't wanna"
"Redrum" Jake whispers in my ear causing me to squeal
"Guys stop"
"What is it your actually afraid of though?"
"Being murdered Samual"
"Ok come on let's just get to our room" Colby says taking my hand in his. We end up getting lost.

Finally we find the room and we walk in
"Dude I just got a weird feeling in my stomach" Jake says. I walk over to turn on the lamps as there's no ceiling lights when I hear someone gasp. I turn around and see Colby pointing to the bed
"What the fuck... wait did someone just put their hands on the bed?" I walk over to see what Colbys looking at
"No" Corey says scared
"Maybe it was the maid?" I shrug
"There's 2 handprints on the bed" Corey freaks out even more
"Look look look. Sam try and show the camera"
"Maybe Talia is right. Maybe it was the maid"
"Thank you finally some logic" I pat Sams shoulder
"I say we sit down and look into the history of this place" Sam put the camera on a tripod and we start the video properly. I'm sat next to Colby on the couch while Sam is sat on a separate one with Jake. Sam proceeds to tell us a story about a woman who was killed then mutilated, this woman is The Black Dahlia her real name, Elizabeth Short
"Wasn't she last seen on her phone?" I ask
"Yes I believe so" Sam says
Colby reads reports of ghost encounters off his phone and that the elevator game originated in this hotel
"We're gonna go back down to see if we can find out more stories about this place"
"Fuck dude I just typed in Black Dahlia dead body"
"Oh fuck" Colby turns away and Sam freaks out
"That's actually so sad that those pictures are on the internet. Like does no one else find its kinda disrespectful to her?"
"No I think so to" Corey says
"They sliced her mouth into a giant smile" Jake moves his fingers to shows what he means on his own face
"So like the joker?" I ask and Jake nods his head. I get the chills and Colby notices putting his arm around me
"Ok well let's go and explore the hotel and see if there's anymore ghost stories. Then we're going to see if we can contact anything because apparently it's really common to see things here"
"So apparently it's not just The Black Dahlia that's sighted here. Apparently there's black eyed children and guests have said they can hear marching up and down the stairs" Colby reads off his phone.

We then explore the hotel finding the ballroom. Jake and Corey say they could hear people, I heard nothing but hey maybe it was just employees. We hear the door making a weird noise
"Yo it sounds like someone tapping" Jake says which causes Corey to once again freak out
"It's the taps it's the taps. Like Queen Mary"
"I'm sure it's just the doors hinges settling after being opened" I brush it off as Sam opens the door and shuts it again, the tapping noise stops
"It's not making the noise now. Talia how do you explain that one?"
"I don't know Sam" I shrug. We walk around trying to find the lobby to listen to staff telling us stories.

Once in the lobby one of the staff members starts to tell us about some things she's seen and heard "So back in the day the gangsters would hang out here. You know like Al Capone and there's been deaths over the years, there's hidden doors here. One of the security guards was snapping pics around the hotel and he went into the crystal ballroom and took a photo of 2 apparitions. The one looked like a guy in a tuxedo and the other was a child standing next to him. You could see through them and just barley make them out"
"That's insane" Colby says
"Yeah but we've also just had weird stuff like people doing weird stuff. Like this one girl was drawing, I forget what she was drawing, but she was drawing in blood"
"See that scares me more" I nervously laugh
"In her own blood I'm assuming?" Sam asks
"Whats even more insane and disgusting but you guys asked, it was her own menstrual blood"
"Oh god" Sam wrinkles his nose
"Jesus" Colby says disgusted. The lady continues to talk a little more.

We decide to back up to our room walking though the 11th floor hallway. I stop letting go of Colbys hand
"You've got to be kidding me"
"What? are you ok?" Colby asks concerned
"Can we just hurry and get to our room please. I think my periods just started"
"What the fuck are you being serious?"
"Babe I go through it every month why are you acting like it's a big deal?"
"Because of what that woman said in the lobby. About the girl drawing on the wall"
"Well don't worry I'm not gonna do that but I need a pad and some tablets because I'll be in pain all night else"
"Don't you find it weird though that..." Sam is cut off by a thud which causes everyone to jump "dude I was just about to say don't you find it weird that you think your periods just started when we're on the 11th floor where the girl wrote in blood, but before that we heard a thud"
"I mean it's weird but like it could all be a coincidence" we walk over to the spiral stairs where a woman apparently fell down
"You think she was pushed? I can't see how someone who was walking down the stairs fell over the railing" Jake says
"I mean if your doing what we're doing and your leaning over, I guess you could fall, like looking down I feel kinda dizzy but idk"
"Ok well let's move you away from the railing then" Colby pulls me away while I roll my eyes
"Anyway we need to get to our room". We walk back to the room and I have in fact started my period, great. Luckily I packed spare underwear just in case.
