'There Are Shops At Home'

I finish packing my suitcase ready to fly to Kansas to see Colbys parents. We're also meeting up with Nate, Eli and Alex for dinner as we haven't seen them for a while
"Babe are you ready? Sams waiting" Colby says walking in to my apartment seeing me sat on top of my suitcase
"Just. Can't. Close. My. Case" I say pausing each time I jump trying to zip it up
"Seriously? We're going for 4 days T do you really need all of that?"
"Errr yes" I say getting off. Colby opens up the case
"Babe my mom has hair straighteners so you don't need them. Why have you got 2 packs of pads?"
"Because I'm due on" I pull a face at such a stupid question
"You remember Kansas don't you? LA hasn't gotten to your head has it? There are shops at home"
"I know I know. I've never been able to pack light"
"Yeah I'm aware. Ok so take these out. Don't need that. Why are you bringing most of your makeup?"
"Because I don't know what looks I wanna do"
"Baby you don't need makeup. If you want to wear it that's fine but you only need your foundation, sponge, some brushes, powder and 1 pallet like this one" Colby holds up the James Charles pallet that has enough shades to do blush, contour and highlight
"Fine" I take out all of my makeup and just put in the essentials
"Why are you so last minute again?" Colby says taking out half of my shoes and then closing the suitcase. I sigh
"Because I work better under pressure. Plus I'm lazy" there's a knock on the door "it's open" I yell and Sam walks in
"You guys coming or what?"
"Ughhh I can't leave this mess. Like look at it" I say looking at the couch. Colby takes my hand in one of his and the suitcase in his other hand dragging me out my apartment. He locks up for me
"Pass me her key" Sam says. Colby looks at Sam weirdly "Kat has one of my keys so I'll ask her to come in and tidy but we really have to go" Colby gives Sam my key who then puts it in his apartment. We head downstairs and outside to the Uber.

I sit in the back in the middle of Sam and Colby
"How come Kat isn't coming?" I ask
"She's writing new music" Sam says and I nod understanding. I rest my head on Colbys shoulder and sigh
"You ok?" He asks
"Just feel a little weird going home that's all. You know Dillon moved back to Kansas about a year ago. I just hope we don't bump into him"
"Well even if we do you've got me, Colby and the others on your side" Sam says
"I know. Oh and I really hope we don't see Layla" Layla and I used to be really good friends, that is until she dated Colby. She used him, cheated on him and was just awful to him so when I called her out on her behaviour she didn't like it so we fell out. She made Colby chose between her and me... I don't think I need to state who he chose after that. Since all of that Layla will often make a comment about how mine and Colbys relationship is fake
"Yeah me either" Colby comments making me smile knowing he still doesn't like her
"I dunno maybe she's changed?" both Colby and I look at Sam with our eyebrows raised "yeah your right let's hope we don't see her" Sam pulls a face making me laugh. We sit in comfortable silence until Sam asks "Talia did you open that letter from your father?"
"No. To be honest I'm scared of what it might say. Like what if he calls me and my Mamá names or says something that I won't like"
"Take your time baby that letter isn't going anywhere. Have you thought about talking to the viewers about what happened? I noticed the other day a few people were asking why you haven't been home or why they haven't visited us"
"I will soon"

After the plane ride we arrive in Kansas. Colbys mom picks us up, drops Sam at his parents place and then takes us back to her place. We walk in and are immediately met by Colbys dad and brother
"Congratulations you two" Greg (random name), Colbys dad, says to us
"Thank you dad" Colby hugs Greg while Lorraines looking at the ring
"Come here Natalia" Greg says opening his arms to me while Colby greets Gage I pull away and hug Gage
"So let's see it?" Gage says as he pulls away. I show him the ring "you did good Cole"
"So when's the wedding and when will I be getting grand babies"
"Amor wanna tell them the 4-5 year plan"
"I have to wait 4-5 years for a grand baby?" Lorraine asks
"Mom I'm 23 T is 22. We're still really young"
"I know I know I'm just excited that's all. Anyway what are your plans until you met up with the boys?"
"I was kinda hopping we could go and visit my Mamá and Abuela" I turn to look at Colby
"Of course we can. Do you want to go and get some flowers?" Colby asks and I nod my head
"We went down a couple days ago to clear the dead flowers" Greg says
"Let's put our bags upstairs and then we can go"
"Ok" we take out suitcases upstairs. Colby puts his wallet in his back pocket then we head out to the store.

Once we had bought flowers and arrived at the graveyard I sit in between both graves
"Hola mamá hola abuela" I place down some flowers "Colby lo siento, no he visitado en un tiempo, pero colby y tengo algo que decirte" (i'm sorry i haven't visited in a while but colby and i have something to tell you) "and before you freak no I'm not pregnant" I chuckle a little knowing if I was pregnant before marriage my Abuela would not be happy "Mamá , Abuela Colby and I are engaged" I tell them about how it happened. Colby and I are at the grave yard for a good hour or so just talking as if they were truly there. I get a text of Sam saying that the boys were at his waiting for us. Colby and I say our goodbyes and head over to Sams.
