"So how did it go the other night? We didn't see you all day yesterday. Sam said you've not been sleeping well so he said you were sleeping all day at Colbys" Kat asks while we're in Sephora looking at makeup "Honestly it was the scariest night ever" I chuckle "I don't think I'd ever be able to do what you guys are doing" Devyn says putting some eyeshadow pallets in my basket "I guess it helps not believing" I shrug picking out some foundation "So you still don't believe?" Tara asks, I shrug my shoulders "ok Talia what is really going on" "I dunno. I guess I'm just having a hard time with it all. One minute I believe and then everything is taken away from me, my family, my religion and beliefs. Then after one hell of a week and night I start to believe again but still no sign of Mamá and Abuela. Makes me doubt it all again" "Maybe theres a reason they aren't coming forward" Devyn shrugs "What do you mean?" "Well maybe if they come forward they fear they will bring something darker with them. Or maybe there is already something dark surrounding you and they are trying to keep you safe. I know you want to hear from them but sometimes just knowing that they are watching over you has to be enough" "I never thought of that" "They both loved you so much. If you need to prove that the paranormal exists for your mind to be at peace then go for it but just don't endanger yourself so no ouija boards" Devyn points at me and I laugh "I'm being serious Talia. No ouija boards" I stop laughing to look at her serious face "Ok ok no ouija boards got it. Now do you think this will be enough?" I look down at my basket "Definitely lets go pay" "I love how you wanted a fairytale birthday party" Kat squeals with excitement "You know how much I love Disney" "We sure do. So are you going to tell us who you and Colby are yet?" "Nope. We said a surprise remember" "Have you seen Colby at all today?" Devyn asks "Yeah he came over this morning and made me breakfast in bed" "Awww he can be a real romantic at times" Tara gushes "That he can. He also took me to see a guy to check if my phones and electrical things have been bugged" "And have they?" Kat asks "Nope. The same guy is coming over tomorrow to check my apartment" "Damn you really are paranoid aren't you?" I nod my head at Devyn and we walk over to the cashier and pay for the makeup. We walk over to the store that mine and Colbys costume is at "Ok you guys wait here and I'll run in and grab the costumes" "Ahhh I'm so excited" Kat says clapping her hands. I swear this girl is more excited for my birthday than I am. I walk into the store and ask the lady behind the counter for my order. I pay and walk out "So are we getting ready together or no because it won't be a surprise then" Devyn asks as we head to my car "Well I'm getting ready in my apartment with Colby then we will go to his for the party. I'm apparently not allowed in his apartment as of this morning. Said he didn't have time to set up before hand. Your welcome to get ready in my apartment if you need or if you want to dump your stuff in there" I shrug and open up my car "I can't wait for you to get a new car. This one is failing you" Devyn sighs sliding in the back with Tara while Kat gets in the front "Hey old reliable gets us to A-B without killing us" "Just about" Tara mumbles and I shake my head "Stop your complaining now buckle up and where am I driving everyone" "Drop me off at my apartment" Devyn says "I'll come with you Talia" Kat says "Yeah same" Tara agrees I put the car into drive and make my way back to Devyns apartment complex "I'll see you later" Devyn waves "Bye" the rest of us say. I then drive the rest of us to my apartment complex. We walk in bags in hand, first we walk past Jakes apartment and Tara says her byes then we get to Sams "Ok I'll see you later. I can't wait to see who you and Colby are" "I know same for you and Sam, well for everyone actually" I laugh. The door opens revealing Sam "Oh hey guys I was just about to help Colby out" "Need any help?" Kat asks "By you yes, but Talia you have been forbidden to enter. Go and watch some Disney films or nap. I dunno" "Sure. I'll see you guys later" "Bye" they say in sync and I open up my apartment door.
I decide to have a bath to kill some time. After my bath I put on comfy clothes and watch TV until Colby arrives at mine to get ready "Hey, have you go the costumes?" "Yup they're in my room" "Then let's get this show on the road" Colby yells and pulls me off the couch. We get dressed, I do my makeup and we head downstairs to take some photos first. Finally we head back to Colbys apartment "Ready?" He asks and I nod. Colby opens the door and everyone yells surprise and are filming. Tara and Jake are Snow White and Prince Florian. Kat and Sam are Jasmin and Aladdin. Devyn and Corey (even though they aren't officially back together) are Ariel and Prince Eric. Cassie and Reggie are Belle and the Beast. Xepher is Alice and Griffin the Mad Hatter. Brennen is Price Eric and Kevin is Prince Naveen and finally Colby and I are Aurora and Prince Philip "Guys this is amazing" I look at the decorations, Colby has turned his apartment into a castle "So I'm guessing you like it?" "Like it I love it thank you so much" I wrap my arms around Colby and kiss him "Now it's present time" Kat takes my hand and we walk over to the couch that has a few little gifts. I open them up and it's just loads of joke things until I open a small little one. It's a box with a bow on top. I open it to see keys. I look at Colby confused, but he's just smiling "Come with me mi princesa" (my princess) I take his hand and we walk out the apartment, everyone one else following us. When we make it to the lobby Colby tells me to close my eyes and guides me to wherever he's taking me "Ok open" I open my eyes to see my dream car, a 1953 Chevrolet Covette C1 in light blue parked in front of me, I'm speechless "I- you- I'm" "Happy birthday Talia from all of us" I turn around to see everyone filming and smiling "Did you all..." "Yes we did. We all put our money together do you like it?" "I love it thank you so much all of you. I love you guys" we have a group hug then go back up to the apartment to eat, drink and dance, without getting a noise complaint.
