malia birthday

malia was still blindfolded as she was guided by wonwoo's hand interlocked with hers. she heard the steps so she's assuming that they're in a place with a wooden floor. honestly speaking, she thought that they'll be celebrating her birthday by their garden where they hold their traditional saturday dinner (which is still on-going mostly hosted by joshua and jun) but during the drive, she was confused why it took them for about an hour and a half.

later on, they stopped walking until she felt wonwoo squeeze her hand, "lia, stay put ka lang dyan ah? i'll just get something." he was supposed to leave but then you stopped him tugging his hand, "eh kuya," you whine, "feeling ko i'm alone here..." she says until she felt a strong breeze of the air hit her, she again, assumed that they were still outside.

"hindi ka nag-iisa." wonwoo laughs, removing her tight grip to his hand, "promise, kuya will be back." he says one last time before kissing her temple and leaving her standing by an unknown place. she started to shiver because it was quite cold when all she was wearing is a black dress inside and left her coat inside the car.

minutes had passed, she finally heard faint voices when a music started playing. the song was too familiar and realized it was a song seokmin released a few months back. she suddenly smiled because the day it was released, jeonghan immediately sent it to her when she was supposed to send it to him as well. while humming to the song, she felt a warm hand hold her arm until someone spoke, "tatanggalin na ni kuya blindfold mo ha?" she hears wonwoo as she nodded in response.

malia fixes her vision until she realizes she's in a ship with cute lantern lights around, she also realized that they're in the middle of the river until she ends up looking in front of her— jihoon is here, beside him was joshua and jun smiling and his other side is sanha who's holding chan's hand. she saw how seungcheol held jihoon's hand because she saw how jihoon was trying not to cry. confusion was written all over her face until the lights all focused by the entrance.

there he is. the person who malia has been finding for since her blindfold was removed. she smiles unconsciously as the man walks down by the red carpet in the middle with a bouquet of flowers and she notices her coat slinging by his arm. she laughs at how silly the man walks in the middle by lowkey waving at the audience as if he's promoting something.

that is jeonghan. the man she loves the most.

as they stand face to face the first chorus ends until jeonghan smiles in front of her handling the bouquet of flowers, "happy birthday, my lia." he whispers looking through her eyes. she pouts as she tries not to cry stomping her feet a little as she wipes a tear coming off from her right eye, "nakakainis naman eh naiiyak na ako." she mumbles as jeonghan laughs putting the coat by her shoulders keeping her warm.

the audience started to chant random things until he leans forward and pressed a soft and delicate kiss by her forehead, "nagpapaiyak ang gago." she mumbles again as jeonghan looks down touching her chin and made malia look into his eyes, "i actually wanted to see your point of view when you walk down the aisle and i realized ang iyakin mo talaga 'no?" he says playfully flicking her forehead, "kaya i decided to surprise you with this" he says showing the surroundings as if it's in a wedding setting. "and also, i'm excited to stand in front of the altar with you by my side." he whispers pressing another kiss at her forehead.

"tingnan natin sino iiyak sa kasal." she taunts as jeonghan laughs squeezing her shoulders and pulling her closer as they hug while swaying their bodies to the song. their friends were just capturing this special moment until the song stops and the couple lets go of each other looking at the audience.

"actually, the announcement is for you," jeonghan turns to look at malia. she looks around as she sees the smiles of their friends, she tilts her head in confusion until jeonghan speaks again, "everyone actually knows already we're both engaged except for you and jihoon." he says holding her waist tightly pulling her closer to him.

jihoon's eyes widens as he points to himself confusedly, "wow! kuya wons ang galing mo naman! sabi mo kaya mo kami need here kasi after ng birthday ni mali, 40th anniversary nila tito!" he says as the jeon parents laughed at the way jihoon ranted. malia on the other hand realized something.

"kaya ba nagsi-uwian kayo-kayo?" she points to jihoon and seokmin who laughs at her nodding, "kuya won told us na sabihin sa'yo na he needs us for his special event turns out engaged na kayo!" seungcheol shouts from the audience, "congratulations!" he adds, earning a laugh from the couple in front.

"actually, they were the ones who helped me set up all these para mas dama. pasado ba, future yoon?" jeonghan asks leaning closer as he looks through her eyes, malia giggles slapping his shoulder playfully, "pasadong pasado. babawi ako sa'yo kitamo." she learns as well pressing their foreheads together laughing.

"teka lang! hoy mamaya na landian bakit hindi ko alam na engaged na pala kayo? tapos nagpapakahirap ako dito kasi feeling ko you both were keeping secrets to me!" jihoon whines as seungcheol calm him by soothing his back. "actually, we finally settled with our bestman. mas importante raw ito— her words not mine," jeonghan says pulling malia closer again, "kasi nga the person she wanted to be by her side as she gets marry," joshua and sanha smiles as they both point at jihoon wiggling both of their eyebrows as jeonghan nods, "is you, jihoon lee." he finally says pointing at jihoon.

gustong sabunutan ni jihoon sarili niya at that point looking around as he breathes heavily. he started to look down almost kneeling as he bends toward holding his knees for support. everyone was cheering for him until his shoulders started to shake, seungcheol tried to stand him properly as they all saw he was already crying hard covering his face from embarrassment. his whole face was already blushing from crying, but then he started to shake his head laughing until malia spoke again, "nababaliw ka na ba, babe?" she teases as jihoon's hands shake.

"gaga ka ba nang-aasar ba kayo?" he says, still crying from the announcement, "huy! stop crying na. we gave up the position na nga kasi you deserve the best man more than us." joshua says from his side caressing his arms, "pangit mo umiyak alam mo yun?" sanha comments from his other side as he earned a smack to his nape.

"kasi naman," he says still sobbing, "i was actually contented not being the best man as long as makita ko lang kayo ikasal pero being beside my best friend while she says i do in front of the person she loves is much more that what i expected. sobrang nakaka-overwhelm lang, i don't know if i deserve it." he said those words while wiping his tears until he felt a presence in front of him.

he looks up and sees malia pouting at him with tears trying to come out from her eyes, "gago. sobrang deserve mo 'yun." she says pulling jihoon into a hug, "jihoon sobrang salamat sa lahat, i really owe so much to you." she says swaying their body while she pats jihoon's back calming him from crying, "out of all the people in this place, you deserve so much jihoon, sobra. kulang pa ata 'yan for repaying all the things you did for me, for us. sobrang thank you." she says already crying, hiding her face at the crook of jihoon's neck.

"nakakainis kayo sobra. ngayon niyo lang makikita yung iyak ko, save niyo yan kasi pogi pogi ko hindi niyo na yan makikita next time." biro pa ni jihoon as their friends laugh from his sarcasm.

"malia?" jihoon calls out, "thank you. kahit sobrang rollercoaster ng relationship niyo, kahit na minsan aaminin ko nakakapagod din, thank you for lifting me up despite almost giving up from your love life." he teases again as malia punched him lightly by his side, "i can't wait to hear you say those two words kay jeonghan. sobrang deserve niyo. mahal na mahal kita, mali, sobra." jihoon says hugging her tightly close to him.

"mahal na mahal ko kayo. forever bestfriend kita ah?" he suddenly asks, malia nods in his chest crying again, "forever best friend kita." she pouts snuggling closer.

"napapasarap ata yakapan niyo diyan?" someone says from jihoon's back as malia was supposed to let go, jihoon pulls her back, "epal ka choi, yakapin ko lang 'tong damulag na 'to please." he comments as malia looked at seungcheol sticking her tongue out, cheol did the same as they heard a laugh this time at malia's back.

"alagaan mo 'yan, jeonghan." jihoon says finally letting go of the hug as he puts malia's hand to jeonghan's.

"i will." he says smiling, finally pulling malia as they both talk to the other guests.

"panget mo umiyak alam mo yun?" someone comments again from jihoon's side and it was sanha again.

"mas panget ka." jihoon retorts back.
