avery stood up from the sand she was sitting on a while ago as she talked to jeonghan. she also told seokmin that she'd rather go to him and in different place but seokmin told her to wait for him, still she said just to meet him under a big tree a little bit far from the crowd, and seokmin follows.

as she arrives at the meeting place, she felt empty but somewhat regretful— if she's going to be asked how she felt, she might only answer happy, for someone who she loved for more than three years. but that's life, letting go of someone whom you love despite feelings can break her. she isn't lying when she said she'll be happy for jeonghan, but she's also not lying when she felt the pang in her chest.

she wanted to cry, but tears are just... holding back and just letting the breeze of the air hit her as later on she saw a familiar man walking towards her with the most comforting smile, probably she needed this right now.

"hey," seokmin starts off as avery patted the empty space beside her, later on seokmin brought out a pack of pink plastic containing potchi, she can't help but pout as seokmin chuckles, "bakit ka nakasimangot? ito na nga oh potchi, sorry ah natagalan ako." he says opening the bag as he gave onc piece to avery.

she just opened it silently as she chews on it, she felt seokmin's hand getting the trash from her hand and as she looked to her side, the man was busy counting the pieces of potchi and avery can't help but smile fondly.

"memorize ko pa rin laman ng isang pack 'no? ano kala mo sa akin" avery suddenly says as seokmin stops from counting and smiles, "never thought na favorite mo pa rin 'to hanggang ngayon ah?" seokmin asks as avery hummed in response putting her legs up and hugging it near her chest.

"potchi has been and will always be my comfort food since then, hindi ako makakafocus hangga't wala akong nakakain na potchi," she says as she rests her chin on top of her knees, "so thank you, seokkie." she mutters as seokmin comfortably sat on his seat by swinging his legs as well since the seat was kind of high.

seokmin suddenly showed her another piece of potchi near her face as she laughs softly, "another potchi for the potchi herself." and with that, she continued laughing but not that loud as she gets the piece and opened it again, "tagal na nun ah, potchi pa rin tawag mo sa akin?" she asks as seokmin looks back at the distance.

"during the wedding of mingyu, not that i'm looking at you well— well the main point is, hindi ka nag bago, you still glow like you were back in high school and," avery can't help but turn her head and look at seokmin who is already looking at her, "your chubby cheeks still had that shade of pink whenever you laugh genuinely, like a potchi." the sentence came out more of a whisper as avery gave him a small smile and returned her gaze in front.

after the rambling of seokmin about avery looking like a potchi, silence overcame as they just sat side by side feeling the cold breeze by the seashore. avery closes her eyes as she lets the wind touch her hair later on she felt a weight on her shoulder, as she opens her eyes, she looks at her side and see seokmin still chewing the potchi.

"i'm sorry by the way," he suddenly said which made avery furrow her eyebrows, "i didn't mean to break a relationship— avery shuts him off by nudging him at the side as seokmim straightened himself as acted like his hurting, "what was that for?" he asks as he massaged his side,

"it was a mutual decision, seokmin, and can we not talk about it now? kakapalan ko na mukha ko but can you please... stay by my side? i just need someone right now." she says as she hugs her knees tightly, "but if you're willing to go, then—"

"i'll stay with you here as long as you can." he suddenly said which made avery's heartbeat beat rapidly.

but it felt so wrong, so wrong to let the person who she once left stay by her side right now, but what she wanted to ask the most is,

why, why does he need to stay by her despite what she did years ago? she doesn't want to people to feel pity for her nor she doesn't want someone to feel like they are a rebound but she just wanted a company, a comfort.

because the person who she once called her home and her comfort already decided to let go, with her as the cheerer.

paano ikaw? jeonghan's voice kept ringing in her head as she can't help but smile sadly, she remembers her answer okay lang ako, and gusto niya tawanan ang sarili niya kasi, okay lang ba talaga siya?

o hindi talaga? probably.

fate's really playing her in this lifetime and nagpapalaro rin naman siya despite being fragile on the inside.
