"I want you to meet my parents," he said pulling away from the kiss, and I stared at him and blinked at the directness.
We've known each other for over a year, but we haven't really been together for long, so is meeting his parents too fast or overdue?
"You've met Charlie, and you should meet my parents. We've known each other for over a year, and you've never met them."
"When?" I asked. I guess it was overdue.
"Tomorrow is a Friday, my family is going out for Italian, you can come."
"Are you going to order Fettuccine Alfredo?" I joked and his nod was serious.
"I don't joke about Fettuccine Alfredo." I rolled my eyes at him. "Don't roll your eyes at me or my food."
"Whatever," I joked.
"You'll be there Friday, right?" he asked and I nodded in confirmation.
"What do I wear?"
"Whatever I pick out."
"No. Just give me a style," I begged.
"Okay, I can't remember the word, but it's casual, but nice, but not fancy nice," I cut him off.
"Business casual?" I guessed and he nodded.
"Okay. I can work with that."
He looked at me. He just stared at me.
He opened his mouth to say something and my phone went off.
Michael was calling me.
"Where are you? Are you okay? You just left? Why?"
"I'm at home with Atlas." I felt my phone buzz again. "Hold, on Munynyim is calling, I'll text you later."
"Arabella, I need your help. Sophia wants to meet my mom, but I haven't come out to her yet. I'm so scared, and what if she isn't accepting, what if she pushes me away, or is in denial, would she kick me out if I tell her about Sophia?" she ranted.
"Where are you?" I asked.
"The café. Sophia is here with me, but she's in the bathroom right now."
"I'll be there soon. I have a shift in an hour anyways." I hung up and got out of bed.
"Where are you going?" Atlas asked me.
"The café, you wanna come with?"
"Yea, sure."
We got into my car and went drove to the café.
I saw Munynyim sitting there with Sophia, Kane, Alexa, Michelle, Marion, and Reed.
I thought it was just her, but I guess not.
"Hey, aren't you supposed to be at college?" I asked Kane taking a seat at their table with Atlas.
"Long weekend," he responded with a shrug.
"For what?" I asked. It was a totally random week with no holidays or anything.
"I don't even know, but I have tomorrow, Friday, and the weekend off, so I left after my one class this morning."
"Munynyim," I looked at her and she nodded at me and got up. "We'll be right back."
I took her to the back of the kitchen.
"Okay, we need to figure out how you are going to tell your mom."
"I was thinking, Instead of shocking her twice, I'd just introduce Sophia as my girlfriend, two birds with one stone kind of thing."
