Chapter 19

I couldn’t believe it, standing behind me was Jack, my Jack, my wolf was doing a jig, my face broke out in huge smile and I felt really happy, I had been enjoying my time here but sharing it with Jack would make it extra special. He looked at me, a grin breaking out on his face, then sadness.

“Cass, I’m so sorry about Mandy, I swear nothing has ever happened between us and nothing ever will, you’re the only girl for me,” he said.

“I know Jack, I was angry, hurt, confused I just needed space, my life has been going at about 500 miles an hour since mum died, had I thought about it at the time I would have known she was lying, but I was vulnerable, worried about so many things, missing mum.” I paused for a second, took a breath, took hold of his hand and continued to speak, “I’m not sorry I ran though, what I have discovered is that I have enjoyed visiting London, but it’s not home anymore,Clare is, I missed dad and the gang, but mostly I missed you Jack.”

My heart soared, she missed me, “Cass, I was so scared; I thought I had lost you.” I hauled her up to her feet so I could hold her tightly against me, feel her heart beat, touch her, let her presence calm me, I held her for about 5 minutes stroking small circles on her back, then I looked down at her face my lips catching hers and I kissed her as if I hadn’t seen her for years rather then two days.

She broke away with a goofy grin, “I take it you missed me huh?”

“You have no idea!”

She quirked up an eye brow, “Tea?”

“Yep only if it comes with my beautiful Cass!”

Jack’s POV

We got a refill of tea and I grabbed a sandwich, she got an ice-cream and then with her sitting on my lap I finally relaxed and ate!

We chatted and walked, and I have to say Richmond Park was spectacular, in fact I would have loved to have had a chance to hunt some deer and maybe in the future when Cass had shifted we could maybe come back on a holiday and ask Alpha Jackson if we could. She took more photos, lots with me in, I managed to take a few of her, whilst she was concentrating on a shot, eyeing up a scene and just admiring the view.

We headed back to the hotel holding hands, I felt so complete, so happy. She collected her key from the Reception desk and we went to her room. It was beautiful, huge, and luxurious with a balcony from where you could see the Thames. She smiled and headed into the bathroom, I could hear the shower running and her singing in the background.

I sent a text to her dad, explaining I had found her and was with her and she was safe, and that I would let him know when we were heading home, a reply came almost instantaneously thanking me and asking me to send his love.

I lay on the bed and before I knew it the lack of sleep and worry from the past 24 hours caught up with me and I fell asleep.

Cass’s POV

I came out of the bathroom and saw Jack fast asleep on the bed, I quickly threw on some clean underwear and grabbed his t-shirt, loving the scent of him, I yawned, I was tired as well, a nap before supper sounded perfect, I pulled the covers over Jack climbing in beside him, he pulled me to him, burying his nose in my neck, leaving not a millimetre between his chest and my back, and before I knew it I was fast asleep.
