Chapter 21

Cass woke up the next morning early, she went to stretch but Jack’s legs were entwined with her legs and his arm was protectively around her stomach, so she couldn’t, she felt him move, then his head went up on his elbow he looked at her then leaning he in towards her lips he kissed her a deep kiss filled with love and promises of the future. Pulling back with a huge smile on his face he said “Good morning mate have I told you how much I love you yet?”

She smiled, then gently stroking his cheek with her finger, she mumbled, “I can feel it Jack, and I hope you know how much I love you. I want you to understand, I was scared when mum was dying that I was going to be on my own, I tried to be brave for her I didn’t want her to know I was worried about a future without her, but her contacting dad, has lead me to you and happiness I didn’t know was possible”

He kissed me again, a deep kiss full of understanding of my past worries yet with a promise of a future that would never be lonely, or unloved. “Come on Cass, we need to get up, we have a flight to catch!”

We dressed, packed our few bits into our bags and headed down for a quick breakfast. Jack booked a taxi with the receptionist before we had breakfast so as soon as were finished we could go. We ate quickly, headed back up to our room grabbed our bags  then down to the lobby, the bills was settled and we made our way towards the exit when we heard a voice, “Jack, you’re leaving?”

Jack turned round and bowed his head in a show of submission to a huge man, “Alpha Jackson, thank you for your hospitality, you live in a very beautiful and with your permission we hope to come back and visit another time and explore further.”

“That would be our pleasure, let me know and I will make sure you are looked after,” he replied.

Jack held out his hand and shook Alpha’s hand, “Thank you for all your help, I and Alpha Sean really appreciate you looking after Cass.”

“As I said our pleasure, now I cancelled your taxi, one of men is waiting to drop you,” then turning to Cass the Alpha said, “Take care Cass it was a pleasure!”

 “Thanks,” was all Cass said before grabbing Jack’s hand and heading out the door to the waiting car.

The drive to the airport was quick, getting through passport control and security took much longer, but eventually we made it to gate 80 in terminal 1, and boarded about 20 minutes later. We found our seats, Jack quickly sent a text to let Alpha Sean know the time of the landing so he could organise a lift for them, then turned off his phone, buckled up, checking Cass was securely buckled in as well.

Jack grabbed Cass’s hand as the plane taxied; she looked at him, “Is the big brave Jack nervous by any chance?” A sheen was beginning to cover Jack’s face, “Jack, you are nervous,” she said incredulously, “I can’t believe it,” she held his hand and stroked his fingers, then allowed her hand to travel up his arm, slowly it arrived near his face, she turned it towards her, and placed light kisses along his mouth, “I’m here Jack, it will be fine, I promise.”

She could feel his fear through the link as the plane soared into the air, and then felt his heart calm down as it levelled off; he looked at her, “Thanks!”

“Jack, I’m sorry, I didn’t realise you would be a nervous flyer. You do know it’s one of the safest ways to travel don’t you?”  Cass asked.

He nodded, “Yeh, I’ve heard but I prefer to run, or drive, I like to be in control Cass, and if anything happens, I know there is nothing I can do, I couldn’t protect you and it’s driving my wolf crazy, I’m not so much nervous as trying to contain my wolf, I’m not sure the other passengers would appreciate my wolf escaping in such a confined space.”

She chuckled, “I guess you’re right.” He continued to hold and stroke Jack’s hand calming his wolf until it landed.

The flight was on time and as they only had hand luggage it took no time until they had cleared customs and were heading towards arrivals. The doors parted and Cass’s dad was there waiting for them, she let go of Jack’s hand and ran to him, he swung her up and hugged her, “Cass I was so worried about you, we were all were, are you ok?” He sniffed, then looked into her eyes, then looked at Jack, “I guess Jack did look after you!”

Jack turned a bright shade of red, Cass smiled, looked at her dad, “I asked him to mark me, now let’s get home, I’ve missed you all so much and she gave her dad another hug and a kiss. He looked at her, “We missed you to Cass, please don’t ever run again, will you just promise me one thing, will you please come to me if you are worried, upset or need anything, I was so scared, we were all scared we didn’t know what had happened to you.”

“I know dad, I’m sorry, I needed space so much has happened in such a short time, it wasn’t just what happened, I needed space and time, I promise it won’t happen again. Being away has made me realise that this is my home now, and that you, Hannah, John and Roisin and Jack are all a huge part of my life now, and I love you all very much.”

With that they headed to the car, Jack holding one hand, her dad hugging the other and holding her baggage.

The journey home was quick, Cass told her dad all about her trip, Jack piped in every now and again filling him in on Alpha Jackson as well.

When they arrived Hannah, John and Roisin all ran out and hugged her, asking her loads of questions, she knew she was home.

They went into the kitchen and ate whilst Cass filled them in on all the news, and gave them the little gifts she had bought them. It was her birthday the next day and Hannah asked her what she would like to do, Cass looked at them and said, “I would just like to spend the day with all of you, and some time with mum, I have had enough excitement for now and besides I think with the full moon in a couple more days it might be sensible to save my energy. “They all nodded the Cass yawned, “I’m exhausted, if it’s Ok with you guys I’m heading up to bed.” She went to each of them giving them a hug and a kiss. She left the kitchen and headed up to her room, a sense of loneliness she missed Jack already, and it had only been 5 minutes; she had a quick shower and popped on a t-shirt and clean underwear, opening her bathroom door she her whole face lit up when she saw Jack lying on her bed.
