Chapter 9

The first one lunged at me but I hadn’t taken taekwondo for all those years in London for nothing, and I hadn’t reached the highest level without learning a move or two, I kicked out hard, first in the chest with a follow up to his abdomen, he crumpled and fell, one down two to go.

 “Bitch!” the leader said, “Now you have really pissed me off, I am going to kill you!”

The two looked at each other, snarled and came at me, the second guy I managed to hit straight into the face I heard a crunch, his nose was pumping with blood, my second foot hit his neck as I flew past he went down, leaving the leader who was really fuming now because he had missed me.

He lunged, I kicked out again but he caught my foot, twisting it painfully as I flew through the air, I screamed as I hit the cubicle doors, he slammed my body over and started to repeatedly hit my face, punch after punch, I could Hannah screaming, I could feel myself, going but not before I heard Jack enter the room.

Jack’s POV

I put all the shopping in the boot of the car, I was on a high, we were at least talking, I whistled as I headed back to the shops, to meet them outside the bathrooms. I was heading down the corridor, when I heard a scream that tore my soul in two, Cass!

I ran towards the ladies slammed open the door to see Hannah against a wall bleeding profusely from the side of her head, two rogues out cold and Cass on the floor being beaten by a rogue, my wolf was furious, he grabbed him, tore him off Cass and tore his jugular out all the space of two minutes. I would worry about bodies after! I went to Cass she was out cold, Hannah, spoke, “She protected me, she took out the first two she was amazing but he caught her and wouldn’t stop beating her!” She was choking, crying, I picked up the mobile and rang Alpha Sean, I quickly explained what had happened, he was furious. He said he would speak to the centre manager immediately (he was one of our own) and for me to make sure the girls were ok and that no one got into the toilets.

Two minutes later, a tap came to the door, it was the manager and he had brought help. They helped escort Hannah to the car, whilst I carried Cass bridal style; they would do the clear up.

Hannah was crying, holding onto Cass willing her to live; I drove like a mad man home to the pack doctor and hospital on our grounds. 

I pulled up Alpha Sean was there shaking with fury, he carried Hannah out of the car, calming as she spoke to him and touched him, I carried Cass straight in and to the bed amantra repeating over and over in my head, “Please, please be OK!” I could never forgive myself if anything happened to my mate.

The doctor, looked at both Hannah and Cass, told a nurse to start cleaning up Hannah who although hurt was conscious and followed Cass into the second room, he told me to leave, I didn’t want to but he warned me he couldn’t help Cass whilst I was there as my wolf wouldn’t like it and may attack him. I waited outside the door, my head in my hands.

Alpha Sean came out asking what happened, I told him all he knew, Hannah filled in the gaps explaining how amazing Cass had been, how she had saved her life, my mate was a hero, I just wanted her alive. Hannah was fine a few cuts and bruises, tired but fine. Someone brought over a change of clothes for her whilst we all waited outside Cass’s room. It seemed like forever before the doctor came out but it was probably only an hour, he looked grim!

“Alpha, your daughter was seriously injured, her body will recover but she took some beating to her head, I have put her into a coma to allow the trauma to the brain to heal, we won’t know the full damage until we bring her round in a few days.”

Hannah sobbed out loud, Sean bowed his head down solemnly, I could feel my world coming out anger coursed through my body for that rogue, my clothes shredded and I ran,the anger permeating my entire body.
