Recording the Song

"So what are we working on today?" Ace asks and pats his knees repeatedly. Noodle has been waiting for the others for so long and she's been spending a lot of time in front of the window.

"We're gonna do something new," Russel bounces on his heels. "Kat said that we will be recording our track today!"

"WOAH WHAT?!" Ace pulls his hair in an anxious manner. "B-but I just got here!"

I place a hand on his lap and look at him sweetly in his eyes. He looks back and starts to calm down. Noodle starts to shout and run all over the place suddenly. We all stand up and look out the window and see the f/c car park in the side. Noodle opens the door and welcomes the band in.

"Ace!" Elias gasps and holds a hand to his chest. "You escaped! I-I didn't expect that!"

"And there's another thing you wouldn't expect from us," I link arms with Ace. He gets down to my level and places a soft kiss on my forehead, leaving Elias in shock.

"Ay, I saw you two kiddos do that," Jeff points out jokingly. We all giggle like 5 year olds as Kat and the Gorillaz set things up. We all start to get back to serious mode and I still have my arms tangled with Ace's.

"Hey, Ace?"

"Wassup, doll face?"

"Who's gonna own this song in their album?"

Ace fiddles with his silky hair and looks around. Then he lets go of me and taps Kat on the shoulder.

"Heya, Ace," She turns around and smiles. "Ya need anything?"

"Um yeah I guess. Whose track is this gonna be?" He asks. I raise an eyebrow behind him and look at the brunette with a wondering look.

"It's gonna be the Hotshot Bullet's track," she sighs. "We're almost done with our album: 'Air blanket' so yeah... it's ours."

She gets back to work and I stand there thinking about how much we've done. How much, just to get this album filled up with songs. And this song is gonna be stained onto my brain like permanent fingerprints.

"Well I'm just gonna take a shower while you guys set things up," Ace walks up the stairs. I watch him disappear and a smile forms on my face.

"So..." Audrey walks up behind me. "I heard that s/n is a thing now."

My lungs almost jump out of my throat right after I hear those words. Audrey snickers and pats my back. As I try to say something, my voice box clogs up and the only thing that comes out of my mouth is:

"Hwhwhwhwhwh?!"

Audrey's eyes widen and she looks at me perplexingly.

"What?" She pulls her head back.

"Who told you that?" I coo. Audrey scoffs and looks back at the group of people.

"Marina did," she says and pats my back harder. "You lucky girl." She then leaves as she chuckles. Huh. I thought. Maybe I am a lucky girl after all.

Recording

"Alright, we're all set!" Kat speaks as she spins around in her office chair outside the room. The recording room was pretty big- bigger than The Igloo's. I move forward to make space for the others and myself. The air is pretty congested due to the amount of people inside a big but small room.

"Wait! Ace isn't here," Noodle calls out. Kat clicks her pen in realization.

"Thank you, Noodle for reminding me," she points at the Japanese woman in acknowledgment. "Besides, where IS Ace?"

"He should be done with his shower," I lean towards the window and look around the back. The door suddenly bursts open and Ace walks in. His bass is all set and slung over his shoulder. The silky black hair hangs over his neck perfectly straight like spaghetti. It's very shiny, obviously because of his shower. But the fresh look though...

"Heya, toots. I'm back," he holds his bass in his arms and squeeze in next to me.

"Alright! Everybody's good?" Kat checks on us. Marina stares at us in awe, admiring the order the bands are in. We give the manager a quick thumbs up and she turns on the recording thingy. "3...2...1... GO!"

The sound effects go first for a while then 2D sings a short note. Then the drums and bass come in. Everything soon starts playing and the the groove booms in the room and everything was chill. My muscles relax as I play along with my part and so does the others.

2 minutes and 54 seconds into the song and Audrey comes in. Her voice cuts 2D's and she sings beautifully like an angel with snowy white wings. Everything is just perfect about our song and I'm proud of it.
